Vietnam's strong commitment to responding to climate change
At the COP26 Climate Change Summit in the UK, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh announced Vietnam's strong commitments to responding to climate change.
The training course is organized to improve knowledge and skills for reporters and journalists - those who directly convey information, guide public opinion and spread sustainable development values in the country's green transition period.
In his speech, the Prime Minister affirmed that although Vietnam is a developing country that has only begun to industrialize in the past three decades, but as a country with advantages in renewable energy, Vietnam will develop and implement strong measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions using its own resources, along with cooperation and financial support and technology transfer from the international community, especially developed countries, including implementing mechanisms under the Paris Agreement, to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

Located in the center of the North Central region connecting the North and South, Nghe An has the 4th largest natural area in the country. To contribute to implementing the "Net zero" target according to Vietnam's commitment at COP26 and realizing Resolution No. 39 of the Politburo on building and developing Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, including the content "Developing agriculture in a sustainable direction, gradually adapting to climate change, reducing methane emissions in agricultural production", Nghe An has proactively implemented solutions to ensure sustainable development in the context of complex and unpredictable climate change; in particular, promoting the application of solutions on agricultural and forestry production to store, reduce emissions, and low emissions in all fields (cultivation, livestock, forestry, and aquaculture), contributing to the goal of carbon neutrality in agriculture.

The role of the press in the journey of changing awareness and action
Speaking at the opening of the training course, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thach - Editor-in-Chief of Agriculture and Environment Newspaper affirmed: The press media plays a particularly important role, not only as an information channel, but also as a driving force to promote changes in awareness, behavior and policy.

The press is the bridge between policy - science - business - community, helping the concept of "carbon neutrality" become closer, easier to understand and have the power to spread. Each article, each report not only provides information, but also inspires action for a green, sustainable Vietnam.

Designed with scientific, multi-dimensional and practical content, including topics from leading experts, the Editor-in-Chief of Agriculture and Environment Newspaper believes that the training session will bring trainees new knowledge and skills, and more importantly, new inspiration to transform scientific information into stories that are close, humane and spread strongly in society.

At the training session, the speakers conveyed many practical contents related to carbon neutrality such as: Methods of measuring greenhouse gas emissions and carbon storage; International experience in NET Zero assessment and certification: Lessons for Vietnam; International commitments and barriers on the path towards Net Zero. Journalists, reporters, and editors were also introduced to the journey of sustainable development and carbon neutrality at TH Group.

In addition to the theoretical part, journalists, reporters and editors from central and local press agencies also had a field trip to TH Dairy Farm, TH Milk Processing Factory and Nui Tien Pure Water Factory - 2 carbon-neutral factories, vividly demonstrating the spirit of "Enterprises accompanying the Government for Net Zero 2050".
As the world enters the “green era”, the Vietnamese press needs to be one step ahead, not only reflecting but also leading social awareness of the circular economy, low-carbon agriculture, green consumption and corporate responsibility. Each quality press work, each in-depth article is a “seed” that sows trust, motivating the community, businesses and farmers to act together for a sustainable future.
