Director of Kien Giang Vehicle Inspection Center arrested for accepting bribes

On January 10, the Investigation Police Agency of Kien Giang Province temporarily detained Mr. Nguyen Quoc Su (52 years old, Director of Kien Giang 68.01S Vehicle Inspection Center) for 4 months to investigate the crime of Receiving bribes.

Mr. Su was arrested due to his involvement in the violations of his subordinate, Dang Phi Long (inspector). Long is the person who directly appraises the road motor vehicle registration files for modified vehicles with design and design-exempt vehicles.

Previously, on November 8, 2023, Long was temporarily detained by the Kien Giang Provincial Police Investigation Agency along with two others for the crime of Forgery in work.

Expanding the investigation into the case, the authorities have now determined that Mr. Nguyen Quoc Su abused his position and authority, accepting a bribe of 28.5 million VND to direct his subordinates to falsify post-renovation acceptance records, issue certificates, and inspect 32 driving practice cars against regulations.

The case is currently being investigated by the authorities.
