Located more than 7km west of the administrative center of Que Son commune, Ban Thach hot water tank in Thach Thuong village (Que Son commune, Da Nang city) is becoming an attractive destination for people and tourists to relax and sightsee.
According to researchers, Ban Thach hot water tank was formed millions of years ago after underground earthquakes. The tank has an average temperature of 40-60 degrees Celsius, a water level of 0.7-0.85 meters and contains many precious minerals such as calcium, iron, potassium, which are very good for human health.

This hot spring emerges in the middle of the fields of Thach Thuong village. Its flow is not strong, but it never dries up all year round. Local people do not know when this spring appeared, but they only know that from their ancestors, they have passed down the benefits of soaking in this water.
Mr. Vo Van Tai (75 years old, living in Thach Thuong village) said that people really appreciate the hot springs given by nature. When coming here to bathe, everyone is conscious of maintaining public hygiene and protecting the surrounding environment.

Not only bathing and soaking on the spot, people also bring water home to use, especially for bathing the elderly and children.
“Depending on each person’s preference, some people have trouble sleeping, have aching limbs, soaking in hot water will help them sleep better and reduce pain. In particular, using this water to bathe children will help reduce prickly heat,” Mr. Tai shared.

In 2017, the Youth Union of Que Phong Commune (old) mobilized the people and those who were far from home to renovate and rebuild the water tank on a larger scale. The expanded water tank has an area of 50 square meters, is solidly cemented and has steps for easy access.
The bath is divided into two parts: the upper part (upper pool) where the water geyser erupts with an average temperature of 60 degrees Celsius, and the lower part (lower pool) where the water has cooled down, with an average temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, used for bathing or relaxing. Next to the bath are two changing rooms for the people and tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Phuoc (64 years old, Que Son commune), although his house is about 7km from the hot spring, still cycles there every day to soak.
“The water in the tank is constantly circulating, from the upper tank to the lower tank and then out to the fields. Regardless of winter or summer, I often come here to treat skin diseases and rheumatism in the elderly,” Mr. Phuoc shared.
Ms. Le Thi Lap, Vice Chairman of Que Son Commune, said that the locality really needs investment in Ban Thach hot spring to develop experiential tourism, connecting cultural and culinary spaces with tourist attractions such as Ho Giang Lake and Hon Tau - Deo Le Memorial Site, Nuoc Mat Stream, Suoi Tien Stream, etc.
