Fisherman Dong had a high fever since October 6. When he was brought to Truong Sa Island Infirmary at 6:15 a.m. on October 11, the patient was alert, responsive, had a high fever of 39.5 degrees, and was tired. Test results showed that the patient had an electrolyte imbalance. If not treated promptly, the disease could become severe.

Doctors and nurses at the island infirmary performed emergency treatment, administered intravenous fluids, electrolyte replacement, antibiotics, antipyretics, and anti-inflammatories; and performed paraclinical tests and chest X-rays. The initial diagnosis was that the patient had a viral fever, upper respiratory tract infection, and electrolyte imbalance, with signs of pneumonia.
Thanks to timely emergency care and treatment, fisherman Le Van Dong's health has stabilized and he continues to be monitored and cared for at Truong Sa Island Infirmary.
