Immediately after the 2025 National Volleyball Championship ended, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet announced the list of Vietnamese women's volleyball team preparing for SEA Games 33. Notably, in this training session, there was the absence of opposing setter Bich Tuyen .

Previously, Bich Tuyen withdrew from the 2025 World Championship, then was registered by the Ninh Binh Club Coaching Board with the task of... a caretaker in the second phase of the National Championship. With no appearance in any match, the 25-year-old hitter's name being removed from the list of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is not a surprise.

However, experts believe that coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet did not call Bich Tuyen to avoid problems related to the gender testing issue that the SEA Games 33 Organizing Committee affirmed that it would do very strictly.

In the list of Vietnam volleyball team just announced, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Tran Thi Bich Thuy are also not on the list. Thanh Thuy is playing for Gunma Green Wings, while Bich Thuy will go to Japan in the next few days. Both will likely return to the country to play for the national team before the 33rd SEA Games begins.

The list of Vietnam volleyball team includes many athletes from the Vietnam U21 team. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet decided to give the opportunity to 17-year-old hitter Quynh Huong, along with young faces Le Nhu Anh, Ha Kieu Vy, Nguyen Phuong Quynh, Bui Thi Anh Thao, Le Thuy Linh.

According to plan, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will gather in Quang Ninh , having nearly 2 months to prepare for the SEA Games campaign with the goal of competing for a gold medal.
