Binh Thuan: 4 5th grade female students died from drowning

A group of 5th grade students in Binh Thuan province drowned while swimming in a canal, killing 4 of them.

On the evening of May 20, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thach, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Bac district (Binh Thuan province) confirmed that local people and search forces had recovered the bodies of four 5th grade students who tragically drowned.

Before that, at about 2:00 p.m. the same day, a group of students invited each other to go swimming in the Song Quao canal area (Ham Thuan Bac district, Binh Thuan province).

After that, a male student ran to find someone to call for help because 4 female students in the group were drowning. Upon receiving the information, many people blocked the canal and organized a search.

At about 7:00 p.m. the same day, the bodies of the four female students were found.

According to Chairman of the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Bac District Nguyen Ngoc Thach, all four deceased students were 5th graders at Ham Phu Primary School (Ham Thuan Bac District). The locality is currently completing procedures to hand over the bodies to their families for funeral arrangements.
