Ho Chi Minh City government dialogues with science and technology enterprises

The event was organized by the City's Center for Trade and Investment Promotion in coordination with the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City, to answer difficulties and problems of businesses in Ho Chi Minh City in the field of science and technology.

This is the 265th direct dialogue conference of the City Government-Business Dialogue System, demonstrating the strong commitment of the Ho Chi Minh City government in accompanying, listening and removing difficulties for the business community.

The conference attracted more than 200 delegates representing departments, branches, People's Committees of wards, communes, special zones, enterprises in the city and press agencies.

The organizing committee received and answered more than 40 questions and recommendations from businesses, revolving around many practical contents, accurately reflecting urgent issues in the process of scientific and technological activities and development.

At the event, science and technology enterprises raised many practical issues, demonstrating their proactive spirit and desire to accompany the city in promoting the innovation ecosystem.

The question group focuses on the following contents:

- Policy to support investment and select priority technologies in the fields of green economy , circular economy, and digital transformation technology; propose criteria for selecting new, exclusive technologies with high commercialization potential.

- Mechanism for valuation of intellectual property, digital assets and financial and credit support policies for businesses based on intellectual property.

- Sandbox mechanism for innovative startups, helping to test new ideas and products in a flexible policy environment.

- Guide the process and procedures for businesses to propose initiatives and policies for developing the science and technology field to state management agencies.

- Preferential corporate income tax policies, guidelines for setting up the Science and Technology Development Fund, and other tax exemption and reduction policies for science and technology enterprises.

At the conference, representatives of the Department of Science and Technology and related departments and branches directly answered questions, clarified the legal basis, procedures and support policies. Many issues were discussed and resolved right at the conference, demonstrating the spirit of openness and cooperation between the government and the business community.
