The summary conference took place in Phan Thiet City.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in recent years, climate change has affected agricultural production, leading to many difficulties in people's lives. In addition, the increase in environmental pollution has negatively affected the ecosystem and human health. Therefore, this project is being implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in coordination with the United Nations Development Program in 2 provinces: Binh Thuan and Bac Lieu in 2021. Thereby, it aims to create a major change in the approach to developing agricultural production in a more transparent, responsible and sustainable direction.

Overview of the conference.

For the development of a green, low-emission and sustainable shrimp industry in Bac Lieu province, renewable energy and policies related to environmental protection and finance in the shrimp value chain have been developed; facilities and farms have been encouraged to strengthen cooperation, contributing to expanding and stabilizing the supply of high-quality shrimp, meeting the needs of high-end domestic consumption supply chains and exporting to international markets.

In addition to the achievements, delegates gave their opinions on the shortcomings and difficulties to continue to maintain and expand the chains of activities to sustainably develop the dragon fruit and shrimp industry in the coming time. In particular, transforming agriculture towards green, low-carbon, sustainable and climate change-adapted; integrating multi-value with a modern, transparent governance system associated with the digital transformation process and close linkage between entities in the value chains is an inevitable trend. Thereby, contributing to the implementation of national strategies, action plans and international commitments of Vietnamese agriculture.

It is known that within the framework of the conference, delegates visited a number of cooperatives and dragon fruit processing enterprises in the province participating in the project. Specifically, they visited the cold storage system for preserving dragon fruit at Phuc Ha Juice Company Limited (Hai Ninh Commune, Bac Binh); the dragon fruit growing model at facilities owned by women at Ham Minh 30 Cooperative; Trinh Anh Import-Export Company Limited (Ham Thuan Nam) and visited the dragon fruit processing facility at Hoa Le Clean Dragon Fruit Cooperative (Ham Thuan Bac).
