Binh Thuan withdraws from participating in the National First Division Football Tournament

On the afternoon of October 10, Mr. Bui The Nhan - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism sent an official dispatch to the Vietnam Football Federation and Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company regarding not participating in the National First Division Football Tournament - Bia Sao Vang 2023/2024 and considering allowing them to compete in the National Second Division Football Tournament in 2024.

Accordingly, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan clearly reported the situation of Binh Thuan Football Club. Specifically, 2023 is the first year that Binh Thuan Football Club competes in the National First Division after many years of competing in the National Second Division. At the end of the first season in the professional playground, Binh Thuan Club ranked 5th out of 10 teams with a record of (7 wins, 2 draws, 9 losses, 23 points), which is an encouraging achievement for the rookie team.

However, the National First Division Football season - Bia Sao Vang 2023 has just finished the last round of matches on August 26, 2023 and the new season according to the issued Competition Schedule starts from October 21, 2023. Due to the short preparation time for the new season and the Project to socialize the Binh Thuan Football team to switch to the model of a Football Joint Stock Company (according to the current Professional Football Regulations) has not been approved yet, there are still some difficulties, especially in terms of funding and the formation of a football organization operating under the Enterprise Law.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated: Pursuant to Clause 26, Section VIII of the Regulations of the National First Division Football Tournament - Bia Sao Vang 2023/24 and Clause 5, Article 7 of the Regulations of Vietnam Professional Football. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan requested the Vietnam Football Federation and Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company to allow Binh Thuan Football Club to withdraw its name and not participate in the National First Division Football Tournament in the 2023/2024 season and register to compete in the National Second Division Tournament in 2024.
