To have Khuoi My attracting tourists, the locals always mention Mr. Tuong Van Kiang, Secretary of the Party Cell 27 Khuoi My, Ha Giang 1 Ward (Tuyen Quang Province). He is the first person in the village to boldly invest in tourism, thereby awakening the potential of community tourism on the top of Tay Con Linh.

Mr. Tuong Van Kieng takes care of the vegetable garden and fish pond to serve the clean food needs of tourists staying at his family's homestay.

Located on the majestic Tay Con Linh range, group 27 Khuoi My has great potential for developing community tourism , with soft, winding terraced fields, glowing golden in the ripe rice season; ancient Shan Tuyet tea forests covered in clouds all year round; fresh, cool air and the traditional culture of the Dao community.

In 2016, seeing the opportunity to develop tourism right in his hometown, Secretary of the Party Cell 27 Khuoi My Tuong Van Kiang boldly invested in renovating the traditional stilt house and opening a homestay to welcome guests. He went to learn about community tourism models in many places to make his family's homestay more attractive to tourists, from welcoming guests to introducing landscapes, national cultural identity, and serving traditional dishes.

These efforts have helped Kieng Homestay become known to tourists, especially tourists who love to experience the culture of the highlands. Currently, every month, Mr. Kieng's family homestay welcomes dozens of domestic and foreign groups to stay. Not keeping his success to himself, the Party Secretary has promoted and mobilized villagers and families with conditions to renovate their houses to provide accommodation services. Mr. Kieng also does not hesitate to share his experience in tourism, instructing people on how to welcome guests and promote his image.

Up to now, Khuoi My group 27 has 10 households operating homestays to welcome guests, most of the households in the village provide ancillary services, and people have a stable income from tourism. Khuoi My has gradually become an attractive destination for tourists. "For the community tourism model to develop sustainably, the whole community needs to work together and benefit together. Therefore, in addition to families providing accommodation services, the village also guides households to participate in ancillary services to serve tourists," said the Party cell secretary. As the head of the Party cell, Mr. Kieng also actively mobilizes people in the village to improve traffic infrastructure as well as develop family economy .

Khuoi My residents still remember that in 2007, when he was elected as village chief by the people, the first thing Mr. Kiang did was to mobilize people to donate land, contribute labor, and contribute to open a large road from the foot of the mountain to the village center. The dirt road was opened, he continued to mobilize people to contribute labor to build a concrete road in the form of the State and the people working together, and by 2011 the concrete road was completed.

With the road, the people here have more conditions to exploit the potential and strengths in economic development. In addition to tourism, the people take care of producing and processing 50 hectares of ancient Shan Tuyet tea, more than 100 hectares of cardamom, focusing on raising livestock and poultry. From a difficult area, up to now 65 households in the village have escaped poverty. The family of the Party Secretary is also a typical example in economic development. In addition to tourism, his family also produces 20 hectares of cardamom, 3 hectares of Shan Tuyet tea, grows many types of medicinal plants, and raises livestock and poultry.

From the comprehensive economic model, Mr. Kieng's family has an annual income of about 400 million VND. Recently, when he saw that the deer farming model had high economic value, he went to learn about deer farming experience. At the same time, he invested money to buy 6 deer to raise with the hope of having another economic model for his family and expanding it to other people.
