Nearly 700 teachers and staff added after province merger

Dak Lak Department of Education and Training has advised the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee to draft a plan to implement Resolution 71 on breakthroughs in education and training development.

Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee has submitted to the Provincial Party Committee for consideration and submitted to the Provincial Party Standing Committee to issue a plan to implement Resolution 71.

Regarding the content focusing on building a team of teachers, standard school facilities, improving the quality of preschool and general education in Resolution 71, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training is reviewing and perfecting standards and regulations, ensuring the quantity, quality and structure of the teaching staff; arranging enough number of teachers and staff according to prescribed standards.

According to data from the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, after the merger, Dak Lak province has more than 1,300 educational institutions, with more than 700,000 students at all levels. The whole province has more than 38,000 administrators, lecturers, and teachers. At the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, the whole Dak Lak province is short of nearly 700 teachers and school staff.

In a recent meeting with the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Da, Deputy Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, said that this unit is guiding its affiliated units to implement labor contracts to supplement the missing teachers, staff, and workers according to regulations.

In addition, the Department synthesizes the number of teachers and staff lacking according to the number of employees prescribed in Circular No. 20 of the Ministry of Education and Training to report to the Department of Home Affairs for synthesis, advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council for approval of contract targets.

"The Department of Education and Training will develop a plan to recruit additional civil servants to ensure enough teachers and ensure good implementation of the 2018 general education program in the area," said Mr. Da.

In addition to implementing additional staff and teachers, Dak Lak province aims to implement special preferential policies to attract excellent students to study pedagogy, improve the quality of training and fostering of teachers and educational management staff.

At the same time, the locality plans to expand training programs and projects, develop the teaching staff, and increase support for teachers to study to improve their qualifications domestically and abroad.

Dak Lak also piloted the model of "Local-linked teacher training school" between the Department of Education and Training and regional universities, linking training - internship - teacher recruitment according to the province's needs.
