The problem between public or private preschool
For many years, public kindergartens have been the main choice of many parents. Not only in big cities, but also in suburban and rural areas, public schools always have the advantage thanks to reasonable costs, experienced teachers and standard programs of the Ministry of Education and Training. The playgrounds and airy, spacious classrooms of public schools help children move freely and develop skills. Many public schools are also improving their facilities and adding learning materials to meet children's learning and playing needs.

Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Kieu, a parent at Tan Phong Kindergarten, Tan Hung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, said: "I feel very secure when sending my child to a public kindergarten. The teachers are all qualified and the rules are always clear. In addition, the school's tuition is reasonable, suitable for the family's conditions."
However, many other parents are concerned that the class sizes in public kindergartens are often quite large. On the contrary, private schools stand out with small classes, from 10-15 children, creating conditions for teachers to closely monitor each child. Many private kindergartens are also strong in foreign language programs, programs related to life skills and arts, helping children quickly become familiar with the necessary skills for the future. Modern facilities and a dynamic environment are also big pluses of private schools. However, the space of some private schools is limited, and in particular, the high tuition fees make many families with many children hesitate.
"My child attended a private school for 5 years from the time he was 14 months old until he graduated. He was always happy and active. Although the private school did not have a spacious park, in return, my child got to experience many things. Before entering first grade, my child could recognize Vietnamese letters and speak English confidently," said Nguyen Thi Nguyet, a parent at a private kindergarten in Tan Binh ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

It can be seen that each public or private model has its own strengths. The suitability to the actual needs of each family is the important measure to entrust your children to a trustworthy educational environment.
When safety and dedication come first
In previous years, most parents when choosing a school for their children often focused on visible factors such as conditions that ensure a good learning environment for children and are suitable for the family's financial capacity. Currently, after many incidents related to school health, safety and comprehensive care for children are the number one priority. At preschool age, just a scratch or a slight fever can make parents lose sleep.
Many kindergartens, both public and private, now pay more attention to nutrition and school hygiene. Menus are always balanced according to the season, meals always ensure adequate nutrients, vitamins and protein. Meals are carefully monitored in preparation. Classrooms, toys, and playgrounds are regularly inspected to minimize the risk of accidents.
However, the teaching staff is the most important "shield" for children. They are the ones who directly observe, monitor, and detect abnormalities in the health and mood of students. A fall or a fight between children, if reported promptly and honestly, will help parents grasp the information and handle it quickly, avoiding long-term consequences for the children. This sometimes puts teachers under a lot of pressure from parents, but transparency is necessary to protect the interests of the children.
"I have a child going to kindergarten, so I always tell the teacher that if my child has a collision or falls, I hope she will let me know as soon as possible. I am always grateful to the teachers for taking care of my child every day. Many things happen by accident and cannot be blamed. I only hope that if my child has any problems, I hope the teacher will tell me the exact situation so that I can monitor it in time," said Ms. Le Thi Tra Giang, a parent at Bai Bang Paper Kindergarten, Phu Ninh Commune, Phu Tho Province.

Above all, the heart of a preschool teacher is also shown through patience, love and putting the interests of the students first. A classroom may not be the most modern, but with dedicated and honest teachers, parents always feel confident and secure.
Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Phuong, a parent at B. Kindergarten, Vinh Hoi Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, shared: "I care not only about the spacious playground or classroom, but also about whether my child is eating properly, getting enough rest, and being notified promptly when he or she shows unusual signs. When I see that the teachers are truly caring, transparent, and dedicated, I feel secure."
The wise choice lies in companionship.
Choosing a preschool cannot be limited to comparing public and private. Preschool-age children need an environment that meets many different criteria, from safe facilities, comprehensive curriculum, reasonable nutrition to dedicated and transparent teaching staff.
Psychologist Dr. Nguyen Anh Minh, lecturer at the Faculty of Political Science, Can Tho University, said: "Choosing a school for preschool children must be based on many factors and should focus on the level of suitability to the personality, needs and abilities of each child. Parents should prioritize schools that create a safe environment where children are encouraged to explore, express their emotions and develop social skills naturally."

In addition to school factors, the role and psychology of parents are also important factors. Ms. Anh Minh added: "Parents should not leave everything to the school, but need to maintain a close connection by observing their children's daily diet and activities, listening to their stories, and monitoring their emotions and behaviors. Children can only truly develop well when there is consistency and understanding from both the family and the school."
Close coordination between family and school is therefore considered a prerequisite to ensure children not only safety but also harmonious physical, mental and social development. The choice therefore depends on the suitability to the needs of each family, instead of just focusing on comparing the name of the school as a public or private kindergarten.
