(Dan Tri) - Ca Mau has set a target of providing vocational training to 28,000 people each year by 2030. The province has also proposed many solutions for vocational training institutions to make this work more effective.

According to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the province has 8 vocational training institutions (VET), including 3 public colleges and 5 non-public institutions. In 2021, the institutions enrolled more than 15,000 people, with 36 training majors; in 2022, they enrolled more than 34,000 people, with 28 majors; in 2023, they enrolled more than 29,700 people, with 36 majors.

Basic training programs and curricula are suitable for vocational training participants and training time focuses on practice (70% or more of the total training time), creating favorable conditions for workers after vocational training to immediately start production, animal husbandry, farming or work at companies and enterprises.

Ca Mau province has determined that it is necessary to innovate and develop vocational education in an open, flexible, effective and integrated direction, focusing on the scale, structure and quality of training; helping workers effectively participate in the job market, have stable income, contribute to the transformation of labor and economic structure, serve the cause of industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas, and develop human resources of the province in the coming time.

Ca Mau sets a number of goals for vocational education development by 2030, such as: annual vocational training and development for an average of 28,000 people (of which 12,000 people will be trained at elementary level or higher; retraining and regular training for about 35% of the working-age workforce);

Strive to attract 40-45% of junior high school and high school graduates into the vocational education system; the rate of trained workers reaches 65% (of which 30% have degrees and certificates); the rate of workers with information technology skills reaches 90%; 100% of colleges meet quality accreditation standards; have one college meet high quality standards (including key industries and occupations and competitiveness with schools in the region and the whole country).

Implementing solutions to achieve the set goals, according to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the province will review and arrange the network of vocational training facilities in accordance with the socio-economic development plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050; the content of the network planning is open, ensuring a reasonable scale and structure in terms of industry, occupation, and training level.

The province focuses on developing a team of teachers, artisans, experts, vocational trainers and managers in vocational education, as well as focusing on a number of key and key occupations of the province.

In addition, vocational training institutions innovate training and development programs in the direction of improving capacity in line with the province's socio-economic development and meeting labor market needs; promote career guidance before, during and after vocational training, promote entrepreneurship and innovation for learners and activities to support learners in starting businesses and creating jobs.

The province also promotes digital transformation in vocational education activities such as: online teaching, innovation of training programs and methods, enrollment, vocational training and employment counseling, and startup support to ensure suitability for students.

"Perfecting the cooperation mechanism between the state, vocational training institutions and enterprises on the basis of harmonizing interests and social responsibilities; closely linking vocational training institutions, enterprises and job service centers through job exchanges, consulting and job introduction days, etc. to create conditions for students to have jobs or start a successful business after graduation", the People's Committee of Ca Mau province proposed a solution.
