Previously, at 3:30 a.m. on September 30, Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station received a report that fishing boat BT 93185 TS, captained by Huynh Thai Bao (born in 1989, residing in Tan Thuy commune, Vinh Long province), with two other crew members on board, fishing trawl nets, was operating about 3 nautical miles southeast of Hon Chuoi island when it was sunk by waves.
Immediately after receiving the news, Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station dispatched 10 officers and soldiers and requisitioned fishing boat CM 02850 TS of Mr. Le Van Cat (born in 1986, residing in Song Doc commune, Ca Mau province) to immediately go to sea to rescue.
At the same time, fishing boat BT 92637 TS was operating nearby and promptly rescued the crew members in distress. However, due to big waves and strong winds, the rescue and towing of the fishing boat encountered many difficulties.
After many days of rescue, by the evening of September 3, the fishing boat in distress was towed to Hon Chuoi Island by officers and soldiers of the Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station. Property damage is estimated at about 400 million VND.
