Members of Phu Loc Cooperative (Phan Dinh Phung ward) cleaned up their booths and initially returned to normal operations. |
In Phan Dinh Phung ward, the product display area of Phu Loc Cooperative - a unit specializing in supplying local agricultural products, was flooded in just a few hours. The entire system of refrigerators, air conditioners, display shelves and most of the goods were submerged, with estimated damage of about 250 million VND.
Ms. Le Quynh Trang, Director of Phu Loc Cooperative, shared: The water rose very quickly, all the goods in the warehouse and display area were damaged. Immediately after the water receded, the members of the Cooperative focused on general cleaning and spraying disinfectants in the entire area. We also quickly contacted the Cooperatives in the system to support alternative sources of goods, maintaining sales activities.
After a few days of recovery, Phu Loc Cooperative has resumed operations. The unit is reconnecting the supply chain, sourcing goods from less affected areas to meet market demand, while maintaining consumer confidence in local products.
In Dong Hy commune, Thien Phuc medicinal agricultural cooperative was also heavily affected. The flood swept away all 7 tons of commercial snails and damaged more than 3,000 chickens in the farm. Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh, Director of the Cooperative, said: We had prepared a prevention plan early, but the water rose so quickly that we could not react in time. Total damage is estimated at 800 to 900 million VND. As soon as the water receded, the Cooperative mobilized all human resources to clean up, disinfect the barns, and restore the production area to quickly restore the herd.
In the difficult times, Thien Phuc medicinal agricultural cooperative received timely support from the Thai Nguyen Provincial Cooperative Union and associated partners. Some remaining medicinal products were sold to create cash flow to maintain operations.

Viet Cuong Vermicelli Cooperative (Dong Hy commune) is one of the units that suffered heavy damage due to floods. |
Also in Dong Hy commune, Viet Cuong Vermicelli Cooperative is one of the units that suffered heavy losses. Mr. Nguyen Van Ba, Director of the Cooperative, shared: We almost fell into a state of complete stagnation. Some customers were forced to cancel orders because the delivery progress was interrupted.
The cooperative is in dire need of capital support, debt relief and access to preferential loans to restore production. We are working with the authorities to review and assess the extent of damage, and at the same time develop a partial recovery plan, prioritizing key production stages.
Faced with the heavy losses of cooperatives, the Thai Nguyen Province Cooperative Union urgently sent working groups to survey and grasp the actual situation in many heavily affected areas, promptly guiding cooperatives to overcome the consequences and ensure production safety.
The unit is also coordinating with relevant departments and branches to synthesize the damage and propose appropriate support plans, focusing on preferential credit policies, supporting the restoration of factories, machinery, means of production and creating favorable conditions for product consumption for cooperatives.
At the same time, cooperatives in the system also demonstrated a spirit of solidarity and mutual support. Many units proactively shared raw materials, supported transportation and product consumption, helping heavily affected cooperatives reduce pressure and avoid disruptions in the agricultural product supply chain in the area.
Currently, in addition to focusing on restoring production, cooperatives are also reviewing and adjusting their operating plans, consolidating facilities, investing in additional warehouse and preservation systems, while focusing on improving risk management capacity and being more proactive in the face of extreme weather events. This is also considered an opportunity for cooperatives to review their production organization models, strengthen linkages, innovate business methods, and move towards more sustainable development.
