Cam Lo completes program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cam Lo district and Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in the District Nguyen Van An said that after a period of urgent implementation, with the participation of the entire political system, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for policy households, poor and near-poor households in Cam Lo district has been basically completed, bringing much joy to people in difficult circumstances.

It is known that in this period, Cam Lo district has 79 cases supported to remove temporary houses, dilapidated houses, of which 17 new houses were built, 62 houses were repaired with a total cost of nearly 3.1 billion VND. In addition to the funding from the province and district, communes and towns have mobilized socialized resources with a total cost of more than 382.5 million VND and nearly 500 working days from the armed forces, Red Cross, Youth Union... to support people in especially difficult circumstances to build and repair houses; households contributed working days and an estimated cost of over 3.2 billion VND.

“Currently, we are focusing on directing localities and units to urgently complete procedures and documents to settle funding sources, ensuring that before the end of district-level activities and the implementation of two-level local government,” Mr. An added.
