Representatives of Federations and Associations all affirmed that they have made careful preparations, proactively built training plans, selected forces, are ready to compete and are determined to bring achievements to the country's sports .
Deputy Secretary General and Chief of Office of the Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation (VMMAF) Tong Ngoc Hoa said: The Vietnamese MMA team is expected to participate in all 6 competitions at the 33rd SEA Games. The Federation has systematically developed a professional training program, aiming to select the most elite force for this tournament.
Chairman of the Vietnam Entertainment Electronic Sports Association (VIRESA) Do Viet Hung said: There will be about 60 officials, coaches, and athletes participating in the 33rd SEA Games in e-Sports. Unlike previous Games, this year, host Thailand will only organize 6 events, of which 4 are considered fierce competitions between Vietnam and Thailand. The goal that Vietnam e-Sports has set is to win medals and at the same time consolidate its position in the region after many successful SEA Games.
Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Nam Nhan said: The unit proposed to send athletes to participate in Teqball, Mountaineering, and Tug of War. These are all new sports with great potential and have developed in recent times. Notably, Mountaineering is gradually becoming an Olympic competition and currently has American coaches participating in training in Vietnam. Tug of War is also considered a traditional strength. These events are implemented in the direction of socialization, mobilizing resources from Federations, Associations and localities.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong affirmed: The inclusion of socialized sports in the 33rd SEA Games aims to improve the ability to win medals and affirm the inevitable direction in the development of Vietnamese Sports. This is an opportunity for new, modern and attractive sports movements to reach a wide audience; creating a driving force to promote the sustainable development of Federations and Professional Associations.
Participation with social resources shows the consensus and cooperation of the whole society in building an integrated and advanced sports foundation. The socialized sports group of SEA Games 33 is not only a "new front" in the regional arena, but also a long-term step to affirm the position of Vietnamese Sports in the international integration period, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong emphasized.
