Patriotic Music: New Wave among Vietnamese Youth

(GLO)- Patriotic music is emerging as a new wave among young people with a series of newly released songs that have been warmly received. Lyrics and singing increasingly affirm their power in evoking emotions, pride and patriotism among young people if they know how to be creative and innovative.

Recently, singer Duc Phuc won convincingly at Intervision 2025 with the song “Phu Dong Thien Vuong”. This is a prestigious international award for Vietnamese music after 44 years since Meritorious Artist Ai Van achieved the highest category at the Sopot International Music Festival. “Phu Dong Thien Vuong” brought to international friends the image of Vietnam, a country rich in cultural traditions. Many experts assessed that Duc Phuc’s performance touched the hearts of a large audience because of the harmony between modern music and Vietnamese cultural spirit.

Exploiting the theme of war, Hoa Minzy captured the hearts of the audience when mentioning the silent sacrifices of the home front. They are mothers and wives who are waiting for the day of peace to see their husbands and children again. However, the harshness of war has made that wait always painful, becoming a pain that cannot be expressed in words. Besides the meaningful lyrics, singer Hoa Minzy's acting is also what makes the MV receive a "shower" of compliments from the audience.
