Cambodia's Ministry of Economy and Finance said the preliminary results of the Debt Sustainability Analysis showed that despite being affected by Covid-19 and other external factors, Cambodia's public debt situation continues to remain at a "sustainable" level.

Earlier, speaking at a graduation ceremony for students of the Royal University of Law and Economics in Phnom Penh on June 5, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that Cambodia is on track to graduate from least developed country (LDC) status by 2027 and become an upper middle-income country by 2030, according to Khmer Times .

At that time, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that once the above target was achieved, Cambodia would certainly lose preferential loans from developing partners.

Prime Minister Hun Sen added that he has talked with developing partners, including China, South Korea and Japan, about maintaining concessional loans for Cambodia after it becomes an upper-middle-income country by 2030, according to Khmer Times .
