The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said today, October 6, the weather in the North will be heavy rain, some places will have very heavy rain.

Forecast for mountainous and midland areas of the North is that rainfall will be 130 - 200mm, with some places over 350mm.

Northern Delta and Thanh Hoa have common rainfall of 50 - 150mm, in some places over 200mm.

Warning of risk of heavy rain >150mm/3 hours.

Central region showers and thunderstorms in some places.

Central Highlands and Southern region: Sunny day, thunderstorms in the evening. Thunderstorms may have tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Regarding storm number 11 (Matmo), early this morning the storm made landfall in our country. At sea, the northwest sea area of the northern East Sea has strong winds, rough seas (extremely destructive, extremely strong waves, can sink large tonnage ships).

In the northern part of the Gulf of Tonkin (including Bach Long Vy, Van Don, Co To, Cat Hai and Hon Dau islands), strong winds of level 6-7, then increasing to level 8-9, near the eye of the storm, winds of level 10-12, gusts of level 15, waves of 2-4m high, near the eye of the storm, 3-5m high, rough seas (very dangerous for ships).

Coastal areas and islands from Quang Ninh to Hai Phong provinces have storm surges of 0.4 - 0.6 m. Beware of flooding in low-lying coastal areas and river mouths due to surges and big waves.

The weather at sea and in coastal areas during storms is extremely dangerous and unsafe for any ships or structures operating in the danger zone.
