The company also carries out repair and connection of the grid using hotline construction technology in areas with sufficient technical conditions... Thereby, contributing to improving the reliability of power supply, serving the production, business and consumption needs of more than 1.11 million electricity customers in the city. In particular, Can Tho City Electricity Company has well implemented plans to maintain power for important events as required by the city such as: ensuring continuous and stable power supply to serve the 1st Congress of Can Tho City Party Committee, term 2025-2030...
To create positive changes in the promotion of electricity saving, Can Tho City Electricity Company has coordinated with departments, branches and local authorities to carry out many activities to encourage organizations, agencies, enterprises, business establishments... to practice measures to use electricity economically and efficiently. At the same time, organize conferences for electricity users to inform about the electricity supply situation in 2025. Mobilize enterprises and production establishments with electricity consumption of 1 million kWh/year or more to participate in the program of adjusting electricity load and shifting load, in order to limit grid overload during peak hours, helping enterprises use energy economically.
Along with that, Can Tho City Electricity Company also conveys messages of saving electricity through the EVNSPC customer care application of the Southern Power Corporation and through the website, Facebook account of the electricity industry... Accordingly, many ways to save electricity such as turning off lights, electric fans, televisions, computers and other electrical equipment when not in use; choosing and using energy-saving equipment with energy-saving labels... have been promptly conveyed to households using electricity for daily life.
Mr. Phan Thanh Dung Minh, Deputy Director of Can Tho City Electricity Company, shared: “To form the habit of saving electricity in each family, in addition to launching electricity saving competitions, the Company also signed a coordination charter with organizations and unions in localities to deploy electricity saving emulation activities to the people. In particular, in Can Tho City, especially in Soc Trang province (old), there are many Kinh, Hoa, and Khmer ethnic groups living, in which the Khmer ethnic group accounts for more than 30% of the population... And to spread the effect of electricity saving propaganda in the community, electricity officials together with associations and unions, especially those who know Khmer, have flexibly deployed many forms of electricity saving propaganda, helping Khmer people to easily understand, remember and implement ways to save electricity in their daily lives...".
With the efforts of the electricity industry in promoting electricity saving, many Khmer households have formed good habits in using electricity economically. With many solutions to encourage customers to join hands with the electricity industry to practice saving electricity, over the first 9 months of 2025, the whole city has saved 123 million kWh of electricity, equivalent to saving 2.52% of commercial electricity output. In the remaining months of 2025, Can Tho City Electricity Company continues to encourage electricity customers to participate in electricity saving programs with many practical actions to achieve the highest electricity saving target in 2025.
