Warning of fake bidding at Long Thanh airport project

On April 11, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) issued a warning about a website impersonating ACV with the purpose of defrauding and profiting at the Long Thanh International Airport project (Long Thanh airport).

Specifically, recently ACV has recorded some information and images about a website impersonating the corporation with the purpose of fraud and profiteering in forms such as "asking for jobs", "calling for investment capital", "paying money to win bids"...

"Recently, documents with forged signatures of the Chairman of the ACV Board of Directors have continuously appeared with content related to participating in bidding packages for the construction of Long Thanh airport and applying welfare funds for ACV employees...", the warning information said.

Therefore, ACV recommends that people be vigilant, do not follow and refuse phone calls suspected of fraud. At the same time, do not make any payment in any form related to the construction and exploitation of construction investment projects in which ACV is the investor, typically the Long Thanh airport project.

According to ACV, all investment and construction activities of works and projects are implemented by ACV in accordance with the provisions of law, and information on bidding and contractor selection is posted on the National Bidding Network System.

ACV also affirmed that it has no policy to implement any recruitment activities or welfare policies for ACV officers, employees and workers as stated in the content of the websites, nor does it have a policy to mobilize investment capital in any form.

ACV is the investor of component project 3, Long Thanh Airport Construction Investment Project Phase 1, with major items such as passenger terminal; runway, taxiway, parking lot; and 2 connecting routes from outside to the airport (T1 and T2).

Long Thanh Airport covers an area of ​​5,000 hectares, with a total investment of VND336,630 billion (equivalent to USD16.3 billion), divided into 3 phases. In phase 1 (expected to be operational in 2026), Long Thanh Airport has a capacity to serve 25 million passengers/year and 1.2 million tons of cargo/year. When fully completed, Long Thanh Airport will have 4 runways, 4 passenger terminals and synchronous auxiliary items, with a capacity of 100 million passengers/year and 5 million tons of cargo/year.
