Previously, from the evening of July 14 to the morning of July 15, many areas recorded heavy rain, such as Pac Ta ( Lai Chau ) with 82.8mm, Pu Sam Cap (Lai Chau) 51.8mm and Cua Ong (Quang Ninh) 43.1mm.
On July 15, the Northern Delta and midlands may experience hot weather, but thunderstorms will concentrate in the late afternoon and night.
It is forecasted that on July 16, the mountainous and midland areas of the North will continue to have scattered showers and thunderstorms, while the plains will mainly have hot sun during the day.
In the Central Highlands and the South, on the afternoon and evening of July 15, there will also be showers and thunderstorms with rainfall from 10-30mm, some places exceeding 60mm.
The meteorological agency warned of the risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds during thunderstorms, while emphasizing the possibility of flash floods on small streams, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas.
The risk level of natural disasters caused by tornadoes, lightning and hail is assessed at level 1, requiring people and local authorities to be vigilant and prepared to respond.
