On the afternoon of June 29, the Board of Directors of Nam Dinh Club, Coach Vu Hong Viet, midfielder Nguyen Trong Dai and his representative had a meeting to agree on the player's future.

Vietnamese players who participated in the U20 World Cup were released in a bitter way.

Trong Dai's contract was terminated by Nam Dinh Club.

Accordingly, Trong Dai expressed his wish to continue staying to contribute to the Southern team.

However, Nam Dinh decided to terminate the contract because he violated team regulations and did not meet professional requirements.

Before the above decision, the 1997-born star wanted the Thien Truong Stadium team to compensate him with 3 months' salary but was not accepted.

Trong Dai is a player who grew up in Viettel 's training center. He is highly appreciated for his physique, technique and football thinking.

He, along with Hoang Duc and Quang Hai, helped U20 Vietnam win tickets to the 2017 U20 World Cup.

Trong Dai is also a player on the list of U23 Vietnam participating in the 2018 U23 Asia, a tournament in which coach Park Hang-seo's team reached the final.

In 2022, the 26-year-old star left Viettel to play for Ha Tinh . With lackluster performances, his contract with the central team was not renewed.

Before the 2023 season, Trong Dai joined Nam Dinh Club but could not prove himself.

Not only that, the former U23 Vietnam player also violated team regulations twice and this led to his departure.
