Fire at two stilt houses in Lak district, Dak Lak province caused great damage

On the morning of April 13, Secretary of the Lak District Party Committee, Dak Lak Province Nguyen Van Long said: A fire had just occurred in the district at two stilt houses of ethnic minorities, causing great property damage, fortunately no human casualties.

Because the two stilt houses were both made of natural wood, the fire broke out fiercely.

According to a report from the Bong Krang Commune Police, Lak District, at around 3:30 p.m. on April 11, the Commune Police received a report from the people that in Dar Ju hamlet, Bong Krang commune, a stilt house of a resident in a residential area was on fire.

Immediately after receiving the news, the Commune Police called the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force, Dak Lak Provincial Police, and mobilized all Commune Police forces to coordinate with many other forces at the base to go to the scene to put out the fire.

The house was made of natural wood and there were many flammable objects inside so the fire quickly spread and engulfed the entire house.

When the authorities arrived, the fire had already broken out fiercely and spread to the wooden house next door. The local forces mobilized water pumps from neighboring houses to put out the fire, along with the support of the Cu Kuin District Fire Prevention and Fighting Team No. 5, by about 4:30 p.m. the fire was completely extinguished.

Currently, the weather in Dak Lak is at the peak of the dry season in 2025, so the fire broke out fiercely.

After the fire was extinguished, the Commune Police cordoned off the scene and counted the damaged property.

According to preliminary statistics, one of the burnt houses belonged to Mr. Y Oan Uong, born in 1983, a three-room stilt house, with a frame structure, floor and walls made of natural wood, a corrugated iron roof, a floor area of ​​75 square meters, built in 2012; 110 bags of dry rice, 70 kg/bag; a tractor; a two-tael gold necklace, a one-tael gold ring; 60 million VND in cash; an old Dream motorbike...

Total damage to the two stilt houses and burned properties amounted to hundreds of millions of dong. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
