Chelsea are in good form at the moment.

According to the list sent to UEFA, notably includes Isago Silva, son of former Chelsea and Brazil captain Thiago Silva, along with a series of other young talents aged between 16 and 19.

Sources within the club said this was not an unusual move, but simply an administrative process to add all young players to the European competition system at once, instead of doing it on a match-by-match or individual basis.

All 33 players are on UEFA's "B List" - a category that allows clubs to register an unlimited number of players under the age of 21 to be trained at the team for a certain period. This gives coach Enzo Maresca more personnel options if he needs to rotate the squad in the remaining stages of the group stage.

UEFA has yet to respond to Chelsea's large-scale registration, but according to observers, this is a valid and common practice among teams with large-scale academies, aiming to encourage opportunities for the next generation to compete in European competitions.

In the early morning of October 23, Chelsea had a 5-1 victory over Ajax in the Champions League qualifying round.
