Coach Park Hang-seo reunites with Van Toan and Van Thanh

On the afternoon of October 23, on his personal page, Coach Park Hang-seo shared photos of the meeting with his two former students Nguyen Van Toan and Vu Van Thanh.

“It’s been a long time since we last met, it’s great to talk to Nguyen Van Toan and Vu Van Thanh,” the Korean strategist shared. Accordingly, Coach Park Hang-seo and his wife had a friendly lunch with their two students, asking about their recovery process and encouraging them to stay optimistic.

The photo quickly attracted the attention of the online community and many players such as Phan Van Duc, Que Ngoc Hai or Hoang Duc. They left humorous comments, expressing their affection and respect for their former teacher who had been with them throughout the glorious years of Vietnamese football.

During his 5 years leading the U23 and the Vietnam national team, Mr. Park was not only a teacher but also an inspiration with rare dedication and closeness. Although he has left the coaching chair, he still maintains a close relationship with many of his former students.

Striker Nguyen Van Toan is currently undergoing treatment after knee surgery. He suffered an injury from the 2024 ASEAN Cup and has continued to relapse, forcing him to undergo surgery as recommended by his doctor. It is expected that the striker born in 1996 will miss the entire first leg of the 2025/26 V.League.

Meanwhile, Vu Van Thanh is also recovering from ankle surgery on September 7 in Ho Chi Minh City. The CAHN defender is expected to be out for 6-7 months and will miss the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
