
Currently, Chieng Mung commune has 64 enterprises and cooperatives operating effectively in the fields of: Commodity agriculture, agricultural processing, trade - services, community tourism, basic construction... Cooperatives and enterprises create regular jobs for nearly 500 local workers, with an average income of 7-10 million VND/person/month. Many cooperative models have become bright spots, contributing significantly to the economic restructuring, improving people's lives, and sustainable poverty reduction. Over the past 9 months, the total budget revenue in the area reached over 7.5 billion, equal to 212.4% of the assigned estimate.

Creating conditions for enterprises and cooperatives to develop, Chieng Mung commune always pays attention to and creates conditions for enterprises and cooperatives to develop. Every year, the commune coordinates with functional agencies to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles related to investment procedures, land, site clearance; supports enterprises and cooperatives in technical standards, training in production according to VietGAP process, building concentrated raw material areas and promoting linkages for agricultural economic development. Along with that, the commune promotes propaganda about the role of cooperatives, encourages the formation and replication of new cooperative models; creates conditions for connections between cooperatives and economic sectors, supports participation in trade promotion activities, searches and expands consumption markets.
From Highway 6, we visited Muong Bon Agricultural Tourism Cooperative, Chieng Mung Commune. The Cooperative has a scale of nearly 3,000 cattle and poultry, growing 17 hectares of vegetables meeting VietGAP standards. In particular, with more than 15 hectares of water surface, the Cooperative members invest in raising many types of fish to serve tourists who come to fish, enjoy cuisine and experience the ecological space. The Cooperative has also built a system of internal concrete roads, a sightseeing area, stilt houses and floating huts along the pond to serve accommodation, cultural exchange and community activities. Since the beginning of the year, the Cooperative has welcomed over 30,000 visitors from inside and outside the province to visit and experience; the average revenue is over 100 million VND/household/month.
Mr. Tong Van Quy, O Cha village, a member of Muong Bon Agricultural Tourism Cooperative, excitedly said: Since joining the Cooperative in 2021, I have participated in training courses, visited and learned about experiential tourism models in many communes in the province. Thanks to that, I boldly invested in expanding the scale, building more stilt-house-style fishing huts and miniature landscapes to serve tourists. Currently, each month, my family welcomes about 600 visitors to fish, take photos, eat and drink, with revenue reaching more than 100 million VND. In addition, I also maintain nearly 2 hectares of green-skinned mango and longan, yielding about 30 tons of fruit per year.

Established in 2016, BHL Son La Agricultural Products Processing Joint Stock Company, BHL Group is located in Mai Son Industrial Park, with a processing capacity of 700 tons of raw cassava per day; producing 120,000 tons of starch per year; creating stable jobs for 188 workers and seasonal workers, with an income of 8 million VND/person/month. The Company's dried pulp and sliced cassava products serve domestic demand, and cassava starch products are exported to the Chinese market.

Mr. Vu Hung Binh, General Director of BHL Group, said: Continuing to expand its scale, in 2024 the Company continued to be approved by the province to invest in the BHL Son La Modified Starch Processing Factory Project, with a designed capacity of 90,000 tons/year, equivalent to 300 tons/day. The factory is invested in a modern, fully automated, environmentally friendly production line. The project has just been inaugurated and put into use since the beginning of October 2025; it is expected that in early November, the company will purchase and start production; create stable output for raw material areas, promote sustainable production for farmers; at the same time increase the value of cassava through deep processing - producing high quality modified starch to serve the food, medical and industrial sectors.
During the 2025-2030 term, Chieng Mung commune aims to increase the number of enterprises, cooperatives and business households by 10% compared to the previous term. Mr. Tran Xuan Hiep, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chieng Mung commune, said: The commune continues to accompany, support and create the most favorable conditions for enterprises and cooperatives to operate effectively. In particular, focusing on promoting administrative reform, publicizing and making transparent processes and procedures, shortening the time to process documents related to production and business. Along with that, proactively removing difficulties and obstacles in land, planning, access to capital, labor and infrastructure; encouraging and supporting collective economic models, linking production with product consumption; developing commodity agriculture, clean agriculture and community tourism, contributing to building Chieng Mung to meet advanced new rural standards.
Clearly identifying the direction of creating favorable conditions, encouraging people, cooperatives and enterprises to effectively exploit available potentials and advantages, Chieng Mung commune is gradually developing a multi-sector economy, contributing to rapid and sustainable development, striving to achieve advanced new rural standards.
