This year, Hop Thanh Com meets the 3-star OCOP standard, next year we will strive to achieve 5-star OCOP, which will make people even happier."
As for Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhan, a tourist from Lao Cai ward, although she has been to Hop Thanh commune many times and participated in the Com festival, this year's festival has brought her a lot of emotions. "We have been excited for a few days, and today when we arrived, we saw a lot of tourists. I saw women carrying baskets of dozens of kilos of Com and they were all gone in a moment. There are not only Com but also many other beautiful, unique and diverse agricultural products. I had to film live to show everyone how crowded and unique this festival is" - Ms. Nhan shared.
For Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhan, a tourist from Lao Cai ward, although she has visited Hop Thanh commune and attended the Com Festival many times, this year's Festival still brings her many special emotions.
Mrs. Nhan shared excitedly: “We have been excited for the past few days. Today, when we arrived, we saw a lot of visitors, very happy and bustling. Especially, the festival has a lot of green rice, especially fragrant, delicious and attractive green rice. The women brought baskets of green rice weighing dozens of kilograms and in just a moment, they sold out. There are not only green rice, but also many agricultural products, unique and diverse. I had to film live so that everyone could see how crowded and rich in identity this festival is.”
Not only is it a simple story from a familiar tourist, Ms. Nhan's sharing also shows the growing attraction of the Hop Thanh Com Festival, where the fragrant aroma of green rice blends with the joy of converging, creating a bustling and humane picture of highland culture.
Mr. Ngo Vu Quoc - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hop Thanh commune delivered the opening speech and beat the drum to open the festival.
Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Ngo Vu Quoc - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hop Thanh Commune emphasized: "The Hop Thanh Com Festival is not only a spiritual and cultural festival with a ritual of giving thanks to heaven and earth, but also an occasion to honor the traditional craft that connects the community. Through the festival, the Organizing Committee wishes to promote the image of the homeland, people and unique local products of Hop Thanh, gradually building the Com brand and local product chains associated with community tourism, while contributing to socio-economic development and improving people's lives."
Hop Thanh Com Festival 2025, taking place for 2 days (October 18-19), along with activities to experience making Com; traditional occupations of the Dao; Tay; Giay; Mong; Xa Pho ethnic groups... visitors can also check-in the vast rice fields, interspersed with terraced fields winding around poetic hillsides, waterfalls and mysterious primeval forests.
This is also an opportunity for tourists and locals to immerse themselves in the unique cultural space of local ethnic groups, contributing to the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values, affirming the right direction of the locality in developing culture associated with tourism and new rural economy.

The closing ceremony of the Hop Thanh Com Festival will take place tonight (October 19), promising to bring visitors a colorful cultural festival. The highlight of the program is the performance of traditional costumes of ethnic groups, honoring the diverse beauty and rich identity of the highlands. This is followed by the awarding of prizes for the competitions, recognizing the efforts and creativity of the participating teams. Closing the festival is the xoe dance around the flickering campfire, where locals and visitors join hands in the joy of connection, imbued with the love of the mountainous region.
