Up to now, markets and supermarkets in the central wards of Thai Nguyen province have basically resumed operations.
The market and supermarket system in the central wards of Thai Nguyen province has basically returned to stable operation.

On October 20, after being supplied with electricity and water, business activities from the 1st to 5th floors of Thai market returned to normal. According to statistics from the management unit, currently 3/4 of the total of about 400 businesses at Thai market have reopened their stalls, and trade is gradually stabilizing.

As for the basement area, the Market Management Board is making efforts to clean up and coordinate with relevant parties to soon restore electricity and water, striving for traders to be able to return to business by the end of October.

However, in order for business activities at Thai market to stabilize soon, the management unit and traders here still need more support from the authorities at all levels and functional sectors. Ms. Pham Thi Bich Hanh, Thai market management board said: The flood has caused many losses to Thai market, especially more than 100 businesses in the basement area. The process of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters has received a lot of support from authorities at all levels and functional sectors, mainly the armed forces. What traders need now to overcome difficulties is to borrow capital to resume business and policies to reduce taxes and fees.

There is no trace of the historic flood. Since October 19, Minh Cau supermarket (Phan Dinh Phung ward) has been operating normally, with a wide variety of goods on the shelves and a large number of customers.

The good news for the supermarket is that revenue has increased by about 5% compared to the time before the flood. All flooded goods are processed by the supermarket according to procedures, and new goods are imported while still ensuring stable prices. This helps the supermarket maintain its reputation with customers and share with the people in the context of having just gone through a natural disaster.

Prices of goods at Minh Cau supermarket remain stable after the flood.
Minh Cau Supermarket still ensures stable prices of all products.

Ms. Pham Thi Thuy, Head of Sales Department of Minh Cau Supermarket said: As soon as the conditions are met, Minh Cau Supermarket will resume operations. We suffered heavy losses due to natural disasters but still maintain the principle of quality goods with stable prices.

Other supermarkets such as Hoang Mam, Lan Chi... also suffered heavy damage due to floods, but have proactively overcome the consequences and reopened to serve the people. As for Tuc Duyen market, the management unit is still racing against time to quickly repair facilities, electricity, water... and carry out environmental sanitation work to soon resume operations.

The rapid recovery of markets, supermarkets, and shopping centers is a good sign to help ensure serving people's shopping and consumption needs, stabilize market prices, restore production and business, and contribute to the whole province quickly overcoming difficulties after historic floods.
