National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man leaves for the 46th AIPA General Assembly and official visit to Malaysia

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the afternoon of September 16, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation left Hanoi to attend the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46) at the invitation of Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives, AIPA-46 President Dato' Johari Bin Abdul and pay an official visit to Malaysia at the invitation of President of the Malaysian Senate Dato' Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah from September 16-20, 2025.

The official delegation accompanying National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife included: Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan; Secretary General of the National Assembly - Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung; Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs, Senior Lieutenant General Le Tan Toi; Chairman of the National Assembly's Council of Nationalities Lam Van Man; Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Economics and Finance Phan Van Mai; Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Social Affairs Nguyen Dac Vinh; Deputy Minister of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien; Deputy Minister of Public Security , Lieutenant General Dang Hong Duc; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Anh Tuan; Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Dinh Ngoc Linh.

The fact that National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man led the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation to attend the 46th AIPA General Assembly continues to affirm the Vietnamese National Assembly's commitment to actively participate and contribute to promoting the role of AIPA in maintaining peace, stability and cooperation in the region, realizing the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and enhancing ASEAN's central role; supporting Malaysia in its capacity as Chair of ASEAN 2025 and AIPA-46, actively coordinating with ASEAN countries to promote inclusive and sustainable growth; integrating and promoting Vietnam's priorities and initiatives, especially on cyber security, new energy, digital economy, etc., linking Vietnam's development goals and priorities with ASEAN.

This is the first official visit to Malaysia by the Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly after the two countries officially upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (November 2024), thereby promoting increasingly effective and substantive bilateral parliamentary cooperation, contributing to creating a legal framework for the two countries' governments and businesses to promote cooperation.
