On the evening of September 12, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue, inspected Van Thai pumping station, Minh Tan commune, Luong Tai district.

Due to flood on Thai Binh river exceeding alarm level 3, at Van Thai pumping station sluice (km9+680 Thai Binh right dike), there was an incident of water flowing strongly into the downstream sluice with large flow, causing high pressure.

The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue (PCTT and TKCN) of Luong Tai district mobilized 1,800 officers, soldiers and police to handle the incident with earthen bags. The incident has been temporarily resolved, and water is no longer flowing downstream.

At the Van Thai pumping station discharge tank area, 100 officers, soldiers and shock troops have completed handling the leak.

Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, inspecting the scene, praised the proactive response of the District Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue.

With the forecast of continued flood on Thai Binh River, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Luong Tai district to closely monitor the incident, prepare adequate materials, equipment, and arrange forces to be ready to respond.

The Department of Agriculture coordinates to provide technical guidance on troubleshooting, and Luong Tai Electricity ensures power supply for the pumping station and troubleshooting work.

On the same afternoon, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan inspected and encouraged people in areas affected by floods in Tan Tien village, Cao Duc commune, Gia Binh district and shared with households raising fish in cages on Thai Binh river.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province requested localities to ensure the supply of food, medicine, clean water... to the people. At the same time, the Department of Agriculture was assigned the task of compiling statistics, assessing damages, reviewing support policies to propose plans to help people restore production.

Bac Ninh allocates 45 billion VND to overcome consequences of storm Yagi

On September 12, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province decided to allocate 45 billion VND from the natural disaster prevention fund to overcome the consequences caused by storm Yagi.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan has allocated funds to 8 localities, of which Bac Ninh city received 10 billion VND, Tu Son city, Thuan Thanh town and Que Vo town each received 5 billion VND. Tien Du, Yen Phong, Gia Binh and Luong Tai districts also each received 5 billion VND in support.
