According to Associate Professor Tran Ba Tien, Vinh University has decided to recognize the admission of candidate Lang Duc Bang, a Thai ethnic, from Ke Me village, Mau Thach commune, former student of Ethnic Boarding School - High School No. 2, Nghe An , to the history pedagogy major.
In the 2025 high school exam, Bang achieved a total of 29 points in the C00 combination (literature 9.25; history 9.75; geography 10). In the first round of university entrance exams in 2025, Lang Duc Bang was in the top 7 among the candidates admitted to the Border Guard Academy with a total admission score of 29.37 (including priority points).
As Thanh Nien Newspaper reported, after enrolling at the Border Guard Academy, Bang participated in a health check and was found to have hepatitis B. Despite active treatment, the disease did not completely go away. Then, on September 27, Bang was sent back to his hometown by the Border Guard Academy due to not meeting health requirements.
Also in the first round of university entrance exams in 2025, Bang registered for NV2, which is the history pedagogy major at Vinh University of Education. The benchmark score for the history pedagogy major at Vinh University in 2025 is 28.4. Therefore, Bang hopes that Vinh University will consider allowing him to be admitted to the history pedagogy major at the school.
Speaking with Thanh Nien Newspaper, Associate Professor Tran Ba Tien said that after receiving Lang Duc Bang's application, Vinh University followed the admission process to recognize Bang as having been admitted.
First, the school must report to the Ministry of Education and Training so that the Ministry can remove Bang's name from the list of candidates admitted to the Border Guard Academy. Next, the school must adjust the quota for the history pedagogy major so that Bang's admission does not affect the rights of new students studying in this major at the school.
Regarding the increase in quotas for history education, Associate Professor Tran Ba Tien said the adjustment is still within the school's authority.
"Although the school has recruited enough history pedagogy students, the total number of pedagogy students recruited has not yet reached the ceiling set by the Ministry of Education and Training," Associate Professor Tien explained.
Associate Professor Tien also said that the school has notified Lang Duc Bang of the results. Next Monday (October 13), Bang can go to school to complete the admission procedures.
