Comprehensive digital transformation, enhancing cultural promotion, innovating sports training

This is the opinion of Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long at the 4th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (2025 - 2030) held on the morning of September 25.

Speaking at the Congress, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized that in recent years, the patriotic emulation movement has always developed strongly and extensively, with many innovations in content and methods, encouraging and motivating the whole nation to strive to overcome difficulties and challenges, achieving great achievements of historical significance in the cause of innovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland; Contributing to the emulation movement and the achievements of the country, there is an active role of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism with many outstanding achievements...

In the coming time, in the new development context that brings favorable opportunities but poses many difficulties and challenges, it requires all sectors and levels, including the culture, sports and tourism sector, to continue to unite and make efforts to turn the emulation movement into a driving force for innovation and creativity, and to contribute to making the emulation movement a concrete and practical action, associated with the tasks of each agency, unit and locality, contributing to building a comprehensive, modern and integrated sector.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the culture, sports and tourism sector needs to continue to preserve and promote the nation's traditional cultural values, build a healthy cultural life, associated with the movement of the entire people uniting to build a cultural life with the National Target Program on building new rural areas and civilized urban areas; focus on building a draft Resolution of the Politburo on reviving and developing Vietnamese culture in the new era, promptly decide to invest in the National Target Program on cultural development according to its authority, start implementing creative emulation, spreading initiatives and preserving and conserving cultural heritage, creating a healthy cultural environment and promoting the development of cultural industry and entertainment industry.

Along with that, develop sustainable, creative, professional and civilized tourism to become a key economic sector, encourage localities and businesses to innovate for each tourism product and service; build a smart tourism ecosystem, develop green tourism products, and raise Vietnam's position on the world tourism map. Especially promote the movement of the whole population practicing sports in the direction of the great Uncle Ho, linking emulation in physical training and sports with improving health, stature and quality of human resources; organize emulation movements in high-performance sports, towards professionalization and socialization, focus on investing in strong sports, gradually raising the position of Vietnam's sports...

In addition, further promoting the role of press and publishing work and the sharp tools of the Party and State on the ideological and cultural front, being a trusted forum for the people and a bridge to promote the image of Vietnamese tourism to the world; building a digital media ecosystem, multi-platform electronic publishing applying new technology to serve the people quickly, accurately and modernly...

At the same time, it is necessary to promote digital transformation; synchronously deploy digital technology applications in the management and digitization of heritage, museums, libraries, and cinema; develop online cultural promotion platforms, and move towards building large databases throughout the industry; innovate sports training with modern technology; apply digital technology in management, operation, emulation and rewards, ensuring publicity, transparency, and timeliness.

In addition, it is necessary to comprehensively innovate the emulation and reward movement in a practical and effective direction, linked to political and professional tasks, and reward publicly, transparently, and promptly, focusing on direct workers, cadres working closely with the grassroots, in remote and isolated areas, and in particularly difficult areas; promote propaganda and replicate typical advanced examples, and spread the spirit of patriotic emulation throughout society...

Also at the Congress, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said that over the past time, the cultural sector has competed to preserve and cultivate identity, nurture the national soul, proactively integrate and promote culture to international friends. The sports sector has competed to practice to make the flag and colors famous, raising the position of the Fatherland in the international arena. The tourism sector has competed to innovate and create to make Vietnam a safe, friendly and attractive destination, becoming a bright spot in the socio-economic picture for many years. The press and media sector has become a "Knowledge Conduit - Connecting the trust between the Party, the State and the people"; along with that, training and scientific and technological research have achieved many results, creating quality human resources. State management areas are focusing on the mission of preserving the national soul, arousing the desire for development, spreading the trust, intelligence and Vietnamese mettle.

“From the practice of emulation movements, many good models, creative ways of doing things, and typical factors have emerged in each field of work. In the past 5 years, the Ministry has presented nearly 400 Labor Medals, nearly 800 Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, 26 collectives were awarded the "Emulation Flag of the Government"; the President awarded 16 Ho Chi Minh Awards, 112 State Awards, 124 People's Artists, 268 Meritorious Artists, 65 People's Artisans, 563 Meritorious Artisans. Notably, at the 80th Anniversary of the Industry's Traditional Day, the Ministry was honored to be awarded the First Class Labor Medal - a noble award recognizing outstanding achievements in the period 2021 - 2025 and many other forms of awards from the Central to the grassroots level", Minister Nguyen Van Hung shared.
