After 1 week of operation, the Hai Duong - Hai Phong HP15/HP16 train of the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company has served officials, civil servants, employees, workers and many students, and people who need to travel between West - East Hai Phong with suitable fares and routes.

At 6:00 a.m. every day from Monday to Friday, train HP15 departs from Hai Duong station, arrives at Thuong Ly station at 6:55 a.m., continues from Thuong Ly station at 6:58 a.m. and arrives at Hai Phong station at 7:10 a.m.

In the afternoon, train HP16 departs from Hai Phong station at 5:30 p.m., arrives at Thuong Ly station at 5:40 p.m., continues from Thuong Ly station at 5:51 p.m. and arrives at Hai Duong station at 6:35 p.m.

Train HP16 brought many officials, civil servants and students from the East of the city back to the West on Friday afternoon.

The retail ticket price is only 55,000 VND/trip, applicable to both officials, civil servants, public employees and passengers in need. Round trip passengers traveling at the same departure and arrival stations and with the same order will receive a 20% discount on the ticket price. Groups of 4 or more people traveling on the same train will only pay for 3 tickets. The monthly ticket price is 1.5 million VND/person. Currently, all train passengers receive a 50% discount on food purchased on the train and a free bottle of water.

Before this train, people who needed to travel from Hai Duong station to Hai Phong station and vice versa did not have many options regarding time, and train schedules often did not match office hours. With the current route of the HP15/HP16 train pair, students going to school, workers going to work, and people going to the hospital between West and East Hai Phong are more convenient.

The train's final stop at Hai Phong station is both a tourist destination and convenient for people to continue traveling to schools, hospitals, shopping centers and entertainment areas in the city.

The stops at Thuong Ly Station and Hai Phong Station are convenient for passengers to get off the train to travel to entertainment, shopping and tourist attractions in Hai Phong City. At these stops, there are taxi, motorbike taxi and bus services to take them to the next destinations.

Mr. Vuong Dinh Tinh in Le Thanh Nghi ward and his wife just returned from the HP16 train to Hai Duong station at 6:35 pm on Friday. The couple went to the East for a day trip. "This morning, we took the 7 am train and returned at 5:30 pm. I find this route very reasonable, suitable for a day trip to the city center and the ticket price is very cheap, only over 100,000 VND for both ways. Parking a motorbike at the station is only 5,000 VND", Mr. Tinh said excitedly.

Thanks to this convenience, the train is chosen by many people. On Friday evening at Hai Duong station, among the passengers hurrying back from the East of the city, there were also officials, civil servants, employees, students, and people going home.

Continued improvement to optimize mining efficiency

At Thuong Ly station, there is a shuttle bus to take officials and civil servants to the Political - Administrative Center of Hai Phong city.

The HP15/HP16 train pair was put into operation on September 22 with the purpose of serving officials, civil servants, employees, workers and people who need to travel from West to East Hai Phong and vice versa.

Officials, civil servants, public employees and workers working at the Hai Phong City Political - Administrative Center will travel by bus to their workplace with a fare of 10,000 VND/trip.

With current train and bus fares, on average each official and civil servant spends about 1.7 - 2.5 million VND/month (depending on the ticket package), not including the cost of traveling from their home in the West of the city to Hai Duong station or parking fees at the station.

For convenience and cost optimization, it is necessary to research monthly bus tickets for fixed routes from the train station.

Since the HP15/HP16 train started operating, Mr. Nguyen Quang Dat, Hai Phong Department of Home Affairs, has bought a monthly ticket. "After a week of riding the train, I found the new train very convenient for officials, civil servants to go to work and people who need to travel between the West and East of the city. However, this train needs to be further improved, optimizing costs, time, and routes to attract a large number of officials, civil servants, and people to use it," Mr. Dat assessed.

Traveling by train also has the advantage of comfortable space, safety, ensuring health and working time. Therefore, many people have chosen the train as a means of long-term transportation and suggested that the city continue to pay attention to arranging and optimizing routes and costs, especially with bus tickets that can be collected monthly, reducing costs compared to collecting tickets by the day as at present.
