Speaking after witnessing Hojlund's quick integration, coach Conte said: "He is only 22 years old, once forgotten at MU. But now Hojlund is showing maturity, great development potential and can absolutely become a real star. He is proving that every day."
Since the start of the season, Hojlund has scored four goals in six games for Napoli, including a crucial brace in the Champions League in a 2-1 win over Sporting CP. He also opened his scoring account after just 14 minutes on his debut against Fiorentina and continued his scoring streak against Genoa, helping Napoli extend their winning streak.
Conte's statement made many fans think he was mocking MU, the team that could not exploit Hojlund's full potential. One account wrote: "Conte is very happy, he is teaching MU how to use Hojlund". Another fan commented: "Hojlund is like a different person in Napoli, he should stay there to develop his career".
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Napoli are likely to activate the €44 million buyout clause in the summer of 2026, after Hojlund meets all the conditions in the contract.
The Danish striker himself has also expressed his desire to stay with the Naples team for a long time. In Serie A, the former Atalanta star plays in a flexible attacking system, receiving more support than when he played for MU, where he was often isolated.
