According to Bild , coach Vincent Kompany plans to recruit center-back Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace) or Nico Schlotterbeck (Dortmund) in the summer transfer window of 2026. This means Kim will hardly be able to stay in the "Gray Tigers" squad.

During the summer transfer window, Bayern considered selling Kim, but the player insisted he wanted to stay. In the end, the "Gray Tigers" decided to give Kim another chance when they had not found a suitable replacement.

However, if Bayern succeeds in recruiting Guehi or Schlotterbeck, the prospect of Kim leaving Germany is likely to happen.

Al Nassr sees Kim as an ideal replacement for Aymeric Laporte, who left the team and returned to Europe. The team of coach Jorge Jesus and superstar Cristiano Ronaldo highly appreciates Kim's talent, because of his extensive experience playing in top European tournaments.

After an explosive 2022/23 season with Napoli winning the Serie A championship, Kim joined Bayern in a 50 million euro contract, making him the most expensive central defender in Korean football history.

However, the arrival of new signing Jonathan Tah from Leverkusen last summer has made it difficult for Kim to maintain his starting position. Since the beginning of the season, he has only played 5 matches.

PSG beat Bayern with 9 men. Early morning on July 6, PSG defeated Bayern 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup.
