The Civil Aviation Authority requests a report on high Tet airfare prices.

According to the document, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires airlines to report on the sale of Tet flight tickets according to the provisions of Circular 17/2019 of the Ministry of Transport promulgating the price frame for passenger transport services on domestic routes.

Although there are many flight tickets for Tet, the prices are high.

Airlines also need to report on the monitoring of their operations to airline ticket agents and the handling measures; report no later than February 26.

Previously, the Ministry of Transport had issued a document requesting the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to preside over and coordinate with Vietnamese airlines to check and clarify information reported by the press about the "feverish" airfares every day.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam is also responsible for strengthening the inspection of transportation activities and passenger services; ticket sales, price declaration, price posting, and public disclosure of information on airfares during the peak period of Lunar New Year and the 2024 spring festival season; promptly directing, correcting, and handling violations.

According to statistics from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the total air passenger transport market from February 8 to 14 (ie December 29 to the 5th day of Tet) reached more than 1.5 million passengers, an increase of 11% over the same period in 2023.
