Speaking at the conference, Minister Phan Van Giang was moved to recall the painful and fierce stories of war from the stories of veterans who fought at Quang Tri Citadel .

The Minister emphasized that the film "Red Rain" adapted from the work of the same name by Colonel, writer Chu Lai, was directed and produced by the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army. It is a practical work to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Not only does it realistically depict the fierce battle, the film also touches people's hearts with its humane details about comradeship, camaraderie, close military-civilian relations, love between couples, and the silent but great sacrifices of the people who made the heroic history of the nation.

The numbers: More than 713 billion VND in revenue, more than 8.3 million moviegoers, some of whom watched the movie 6 times...; many veterans and generals shed tears, reliving the memories of a fiery time, many audiences, although still very young, only knew about the war, the loss and sacrifice of their fathers and brothers through books and films, but were especially moved when watching "Red Rain", which affirmed the great influence of the work. The highlight of "Red Rain" is the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers, deeply and vividly portrayed with noble qualities, a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism in the Ho Chi Minh era. These are the eternal values, the source of strength for our Army to continue to promote in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation.

With the success of the film “Red Rain”, General Phan Van Giang affirmed that art in general, cinema in particular, when associated with history and revolution, and invested in the right direction, will become an effective propaganda channel, spreading patriotism and the desire to contribute in society, among all classes of people, especially the young generation.

The themes of armed forces, revolutionary war and the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers always have a strong appeal, are an endless source of inspiration for artists and have a strong influence on the public.

Propaganda and promotion work is very important, helping works reach the right audience at the right time, spread widely throughout society and reach international level.

Minister Phan Van Giang assigned the Vietnam People's Army General Department to continue directing the Vietnam People's Army Cinema and cultural and artistic agencies in the Army to promote the achievements, research and create more new works on the themes of revolution, resistance, building and defending the Fatherland. At the same time, it is necessary to bring the film "Red Rain" into the propaganda and education system throughout the army; organize film screenings at units, academies, schools; widely promote to the people and international friends, so that the value and meaning of the film continue to spread strongly.

Speaking at the program, Lieutenant Colonel, Meritorious Artist, Director Dang Thai Huyen, on behalf of the People's Army Cinema and the film production crew, expressed her emotion at the attention of the Chief of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the General Department of the Vietnam People's Army and agencies and units inside and outside the Army. The female director emphasized that for the crew, "Red Rain" is more than just a film, "Red Rain" is a stick of incense to pay tribute to the generations of fathers and brothers who devoted their beautiful youth to the day the country was reunified. During the process of making the film, the film crew always received the trust and encouragement of the chiefs, leaders at all levels, comrades and teammates. When shown, "Red Rain" became an unprecedented cultural phenomenon of Vietnamese cinema, honorably setting a record as the highest-grossing film in Vietnam to date; 3rd highest grossing film in Southeast Asia and is in the top 65 highest grossing films globally as of 2025.

After the screening of “Red Rain”, in addition to words of encouragement and praise, the crew also received constructive comments, pointing out points that needed to be improved. The People’s Army Cinema and the crew listened, seriously learned from their experiences and considered this a valuable lesson for future works of art to overcome and improve further.

Also at the conference, the opinions of actors Phuong Nam (Ta role) and Ha Anh (Hong role) both expressed their honor and emotion when participating in the film "Red Rain". The impression of the actors when transforming in the film, stepping out into real life is remembered by the audience and affectionately called by the name of the role. The actors also hope that the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, the General Department of Vietnam People's Army, and the People's Army Cinema in the coming time will continue to invest in producing many films about revolutionary war and soldiers so that they can transform into soldiers, spreading the good values ​​of the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in both wartime and peacetime.

At the conference, in recognition of the achievements in organizing the production and promotion of the film "Red Rain", Minister Phan Van Giang awarded Certificates of Merit to 20 groups and 18 individuals; the General Department of Military Industry awarded Certificates of Merit to 16 groups and 59 individuals; the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province awarded a Certificate of Merit to the Military Industry Cinema.

On this occasion, the Ministry of National Defense also considered and proposed to award the Third Class Labor Medal to the People's Army Cinema collective; 3 individuals, including: Colonel Nguyen Thu Dung (Director of People's Army Cinema), Colonel Kieu Thanh Thuy (Deputy Director of People's Army Cinema, Production Director of the film "Red Rain"), Lieutenant Colonel Dang Thai Huyen (Deputy Director of People's Army Cinema, director of the film "Red Rain").
