
The conference was held to comprehensively evaluate the production and promotion process of Red Rain - one of the key art works directed by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, towards the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2.
Attending and directing the Conference were General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense; General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; and General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense.
Representing the Army Cinema and the production team, Lieutenant Colonel, Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen – Deputy Director of the People’s Army Cinema, director of the film, expressed her honor that Red Rain was entrusted with a special political mission. For her, this is an honor but at the same time, it is also a great pressure, especially when she does not have much experience in making war films.

However, director Dang Thai Huyen and her crew completed the task excellently. The female director shared: " Red Rain finished filming after 81 days of the whole crew soaking in the cold rain with extremely fierce and arduous war scenes. The historical number 81, the number 81 days and nights of complete dedication with emotions, ideals and gratitude with Red Rain will forever be remembered and a mark of our career that we will never forget."
According to the report, Red Rain has become the third highest-grossing film in Southeast Asia and is among the top 65 highest-grossing films globally as of 2025. The director affirmed that this success is the crystallization of collective spirit, comradeship, teamwork and close guidance from leaders at all levels.
Director Dang Thai Huyen expressed: "Today's Summary Conference is not only for the Red Rain crew, but for us - it also means recognition from leaders at all levels for the efforts of Army Cinema in joining the flow of Vietnamese cinema on the journey of preserving historical memories and building spiritual values for society."



The crew and cast received a certificate of merit from the Ministry of Defense.
Army Cinema and the crew pledge to listen and seriously learn from the comments, considering Red Rain as a starting point to continue promoting the spirit of innovation and creativity in the new period.
The conference not only comprehensively evaluated the journey of creating a key work of art of the Army, but also expressed deep gratitude to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives, and at the same time oriented the flow of Vietnamese revolutionary cinema in the future.

From the results achieved, the Conference aimed to propose the next directions, solutions and tasks in organizing the creation, production and propaganda of cultural and artistic works on the topics of the Armed Forces, revolutionary war and "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" in the coming time.
The goal is to continue affirming the special role of culture in the cause of building a Vietnam People's Army strong in politics, ideology, organization and ethics, while enriching the spiritual life of soldiers and people, consolidating the people's hearts and minds - the solid foundation of all-people national defense.
