On the evening of October 17, at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, the choir program Qua Cau Gio Bay (Passing the Wind Bridge) by the Lichtenberg Choir (Berlin, Germany) in collaboration with the Hope Choir opened a space for musical exchange imbued with cultural and artistic values. The event is part of a series of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany.

The choir program "Passing the Windy Bridge" performed by the Lichtenberg Choir (Berlin, Germany) in collaboration with the Hope Choir took place on the evening of October 17 at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
Under the direction of conductor Katrin Hübner, the Lichtenberg Berlin Chamber Choir, together with Vietnamese artists such as Le Manh Hung and Tran Phuong Hoa, brought familiar Vietnamese folk melodies such as Qua cau gio bay, Cay truc xinh, Trong com, Beo dat may troi, Ngua o thuong nho... which were arranged and arranged specifically for the choir.
In addition, there are Western classical vocal works by famous composers such as Mozart, Mendelssohn, Reger and many other contemporary authors. The delicate blend of folk music and Western academic music has created a night full of emotions and impressions.
According to the organizers, the program is not only an art performance event, but also a cultural bridge, helping people from two German and Vietnamese cultures to become closer and understand each other better.
Artists Le Manh Hung and Tran Phuong Hoa perform with the Lichtenberg choir.
The choir representative shared the hope that through the melodies, the friendship between Vietnam and Germany will be increasingly deepened. That is also the way the artists use art to spread the message of peace and solidarity between nations.
The Lichtenberg Choir was founded in 2011 in the Lichtenberg district (Berlin), and currently brings together around 30 enthusiastic voices, specializing in performing a variety of a cappella works from the Renaissance to contemporary, along with unique jazz and pop arrangements.
In 2023, the Berlin – Hanoi project under the direction of Katrin Hübner made a splash at the Berliner Philharmonie when it recreated the musical journey of the Vietnamese community in Germany, thereby affirming Lichtenberg's role in connecting cultures between the two countries.
The Hope Choir was founded nearly 20 years ago, consisting of 7 blind members from Nguyen Dinh Chieu School (Hanoi), founded by Professor Ton That Triem.
Since 2004, the group has expanded to 20 members, participating in thousands of large and small performances. The members come from many regions, do many different jobs but all share a passion for music.
