Defeating the Philippines, U23 Thailand won third place in the U23 Southeast Asian tournament.

(Dan Tri) - Playing overwhelmingly, U23 Thailand defeated U23 Philippines 3-1 at Bung Karno Stadium (Indonesia) on the evening of July 28 and won third place in the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 tournament.

Rated higher, U23 Thailand dominated and forced U23 Philippines back to their home field. The pressure from the Golden Temple team was realized in the 30th minute when Praphanth connected in the penalty area to help U23 Thailand lead 1-0 and that was the result of the first half.

In the second half, U23 Thailand was the team that controlled the game and in the 74th minute, Siraphop launched a cunning left-footed shot to increase the score to 2-0. Just 5 minutes later, U23 Philippines rekindled hope when Banatao reduced the score to 1-2 with a close-range header.

However, the Thais' bravery helped them finish the match, when Seksan Ratree finished with a tricky shot to seal a 3-1 victory. U23 Thailand said goodbye to the U23 Southeast Asian tournament in Indonesia with third place overall.
