Unique mark in Nguyen Minh Cong's 10-year fashion journey

Designer Nguyen Minh Cong recently held the exhibition "Miệt Islet", commemorating his 10-year career journey on the evening of October 15, at the Southern Women's Museum (HCMC).

Amidst the contemporary breath of Vietnamese fashion, Nguyen Minh Cong chose to return to his memories to tell the story of his Western homeland through fashion .

Not only exhibitions, Miet Cu Lao also has a unique show - where traditional Southern cakes are revived in the language of modern fashion.

The collection of 20 designs was developed from the collection that set a Vietnamese Record in 2021 (a mini fashion collection made from materials of Southern folk dishes), now realized by Nguyen Minh Cong into vivid and sophisticated designs on the catwalk, such as: sweet rice rolls, pig skin cakes, sweet water fern cakes, cassava cakes, pomelo dew jelly tea, jackfruit leaf cakes,...

At the exhibition's opening night, designer Nguyen Minh Cong selected 7 designs representing 20 impressive designs of the collection to perform.

Miss Luong Thuy Linh closed the catwalk with a rice paper design. The white lace layer was designed in layers with a characteristic soft curve, creating a flowing, graceful and luxurious look.

Miss Luong Thuy Linh, Que Anh and runners-up Ngoc Hang, Quynh Chau, Ngoc Thao, Phuong Anh performed designs of Southern folk dishes by designer Nguyen Minh Cong.

The opening night became a meeting point for the art and fashion world, with the participation of artists such as singer Phuong My Chi, actress Puka, Miss Khanh Van, Ngoc Chau, Phuong Khanh, Luong Thuy Linh...

Also at the exhibition opening night, Dr., Lawyer Nguyen Van Vien - Director of the Vietnam Intellectual Property Institute, Vice President of the Central Vietnam Record Association commented that Nguyen Minh Cong is one of the rare designers who can connect folk spirit and contemporary fashion with pride in his origins.

The exhibition Miet Cu Lao is open to the public free of charge. The event takes place from October 15 to November 15, at the Southern Women's Museum, Ho Chi Minh City.
