Hue increases water discharge from hydroelectric reservoirs

Hue City Civil Defense Command is ready with plans and scenarios to respond to storms, heavy rains, floods, landslides, and flash floods.

On the afternoon of October 16, the Hue City Civil Defense Command said that from 1 p.m. the same day, Binh Dien Hydropower Reservoir on the Huong River basin regulated the discharge of water through the spillway and turbine with a flow rate of ^500-900m3 /s, adjusting the operation of this hydropower reservoir depending on the actual flow to the reservoir.

Meanwhile, the water level of Huong Dien hydropower reservoir (on Bo river) at 10:00 a.m. on October 16, the incoming water flow was 1,361m ³ /s, the outgoing water flow was 415m ³ /s. Huong Dien hydropower joint stock company regulated the water downstream with a flow of 500m ³ /s.

National Highway 1A through Phu Loc commune and many residential areas in this locality were partially flooded.

On the same day, Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, said that Hue City Military Command maintained 2,917 officers and soldiers (of which, regular troops: 1,797 comrades; mobile militia: 1,120 comrades) along with many ships, boats, and vehicles ready to respond to floods.

The city police maintain 2,000 officers, 50 canoes, 60 boats, 24 fire trucks, 57 chainsaws, 141 generators, 2,000 life jackets and other tools and equipment to ensure response to heavy rain...
