The mark of innovation in the movement "Women are good at public affairs and good at housework"

Over the past 5 years (2020-2025), the emulation movement "Women are good at public work and good at housework" has been widely implemented by Trade Unions at all levels, becoming an important driving force to arouse the creativity and responsibility of millions of Vietnamese women.

The roses of Hanoi Capital are good at both public and private affairs.

This activity not only contributes to affirming the role and position of women in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country but also spreads the good values ​​of Vietnamese families in the period of integration and digital transformation.

Affirming the role of women in all fields

The 2020-2025 period witnessed a strong transformation of the movement "Women are good at public work and good at housework" when it was linked with socio -economic development tasks. Based on the guidance of the General Confederation of Labor, trade unions of ministries, branches, localities and industrial zones have proactively integrated the movement with patriotic emulation programs, the campaign "Building Vietnamese women of the new era", "Families of exemplary workers, civil servants and laborers", the movement "Good workers, creative workers"...

Statistics show that more than 70% of female cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers have achieved the title of “Good at public work, good at housework” at all levels. Hundreds of thousands of initiatives and solutions proposed by women have been applied, bringing about practical economic and social efficiency.

Particularly in the fields of education , science and technology, many female union members have proactively innovated working methods, improved service quality for the people, reformed administration and applied information technology in management.

The emulation movement not only honors women who are good at public work and housework, but is also a journey for Vietnamese women to affirm their mettle, intelligence, dare to innovate and be ready to adapt to the trend of digital transformation, green economy and circular economy.

The Health Sector Trade Union stands out with the movement “Women in the Health Sector dedicated, creative, responsible for public health”, attracting tens of thousands of female union members to register. During the COVID-19 pandemic, tens of thousands of female doctors and nurses have put their personal matters aside to care for and treat patients, regardless of danger. They are both “white-shirt soldiers” on the front line and good mothers and wives, keeping the flame of love alive in every family.

In the manufacturing sector, many female workers have promoted the spirit of thrift and technical innovation, contributing to increasing productivity and reducing costs for businesses. Grassroots unions in industrial zones in Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Dong Nai... have implemented the models of "Self-managed Women's Group", "Lovely Kitchen Corner", "Safe Accommodation for Female Workers" to help connect and support each other in life. These activities not only create a friendly working environment, but also spread the spirit of mutual love and affection in the worker community.

New age woman

Despite many positive results, in some localities, the implementation is still formal and lacks depth; propaganda and replication of typical models are not uniform. A number of women still face difficulties in balancing work and family, especially industrial workers, migrant women or single women.

According to Thai Thu Xuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, digital transformation brings many opportunities and conditions for women to enjoy. When applying scientific and technical advances, the achievements of digital transformation have contributed to helping women improve their quality of life, access new technology, free up labor, reduce housework time, spend more time improving professional qualifications as well as career development opportunities.

Ms. Thai Thu Xuong believes that nowadays, the concept of “taking care of the house” needs to be viewed from a new perspective: it is not about taking on or shouldering everything, but the ability to organize life scientifically, balancing work and family. Women are no longer alone in the home, but are the ones who create an environment of sharing, equality and love.

In this direction, in the coming time, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will continue to innovate the content and methods of organizing emulation movements to make them more practical and effective; focus on training and fostering skills, especially digital transformation capacity for union members and workers, including female workers; encourage female union members to work, study and apply digital technology and artificial intelligence in their work to improve efficiency and labor productivity. At the same time, the trade union organization will also strengthen consultation and policy proposals, ensuring the legitimate and legal rights and interests of female workers; building an equal, safe and humane working environment.

At the same time, in 2025, the Vietnam Trade Union will honor dynamic, creative, and responsible female union members who have in common a spirit of dedication, initiative, creativity, and dedication to work. This is also the message that the General Confederation of Labor wants to convey, to honor and spread the core values ​​that workers in general and female union members in particular strive for.
