
Speaking at the ceremony, President Luong Cuong praised the great contributions of farmers and scientists. The President emphasized that in the context of being affected by climate change, natural disasters, epidemics and the global market, Vietnam's agricultural sector has still steadfastly risen, achieved many impressive achievements, played a supporting role in the economy , contributed to stabilizing the macro economy, ensuring food security, social security and national defense and security.
The President acknowledged that the 63 outstanding farmers and 32 agricultural scientists honored are exemplary examples of will, creativity, inspiration and dedication to the country. “I hope that the outstanding Vietnamese farmers and agricultural scientists honored today will continue to spread inspirational stories, maintain creative ways of working, and unite to help each other to legitimately enrich themselves, their families and the country,” President Luong Cuong emphasized.

Among the 63 outstanding farmers, the youngest is Mr. Nguyen Tung Duong (born in 2000, in Lang Chanh village, Tam Duong Bac commune, Phu Tho province) with a model of producing yellow flower tea and trading seedlings, with a profit of 1.2 billion VND/year.
The oldest is Mr. Chu Van Sam (born in 1948, in Dong Danh village, An Nghia commune, Phu Tho province) with a dairy cow farming model, revenue of 1.4 billion VND/year.
The farmer with the highest revenue is Mr. Ho Phi Thuy (Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province) with a pearl farming model combined with eco-tourism, producing 320,000 pearls/year, with a revenue of 95 - 150 billion VND. In second place is Mr. Nguyen Chi Linh (in Bo Cang hamlet, Long Dien commune, Ca Mau province) with a white-leg shrimp farming model, with a revenue of 90 billion VND/year.

This year, 32 agricultural scientists were honored for their outstanding contributions to Vietnamese agriculture, including 27 men and 5 women. The youngest is Nguyen Khanh Toan (born in 1990, Tay ethnic group, working at the Center for Science and Technology - Department of Science and Technology of Lang Son province). The oldest is Professor Mai Van Quyen (born in 1938), Chairman of the Science and Technology Council of Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company.
Many outstanding inventions of farmers and scientists were also recognized at this year's ceremony, such as the automatic cassava cutting machine using solar energy by Mr. Pham Van Thanh (Gia Lai), the bait-free mouse trap and crescent-shaped bird repeller by Mr. Tran Quang Thieu (Hanoi), the intensive crab farming model by Mr. Nguyen Viet Bac (Ca Mau)...
