Auction of 500 iPhones with prices starting from 2.5 million VND/unit: Unexpected results

(Dan Tri) - A batch of 500 iPhones, including nearly 400 iPhone 13s, was successfully auctioned after 10 rounds of bidding. The winning price was more than 3.48 billion VND, 1.4 billion VND higher than the starting price.

An auction company has just completed the auction of a series of confiscated goods that have been approved for auction by the Hanoi Market Management Department.

In the auction on the morning of September 23, the Hanoi Market Management Department auctioned about 500 iPhones. Many had starting prices of 2.5 million VND. More than 70 of these were iPhone 12, 12 Pro and nearly 400 iPhone 13s priced at 4 million VND each - much lower than used iPhone 13s on the market today (about 7-11 million VND, depending on storage capacity).

The starting price for this batch is over 2.01 billion VND, averaging over 4 million VND/unit. All phones auctioned in this batch are used, made abroad.

According to the announced results, after about 1 hour of online auction, the lot of 500 iPhones was successfully auctioned with a winning price of more than 3.48 billion VND, 1.4 billion VND higher than the starting price.

This auction had 13 participants, the lot went through 10 rounds of bidding before the winning price was determined to be more than 3.48 billion VND. Thus, each iPhone had an average winning price of about 6.97 million VND.

Previously, at the end of August, another company also announced the auction of a batch of assets confiscated to the State budget, which were used phones, electronic devices, and old office machines (including 406 phones and 34 electronic devices: computers, printers, bluetooth speakers...) from the Civil Judgment Enforcement Agency of Bac Ninh province . The starting price of this batch of assets is more than 270 million VND.

The auctioned items include mobile phones from many familiar brands such as Samsung, iPhone, Nokia, Oppo... However, most of them are used, many models cannot be tested for working condition, some even have cracked screens.
