Storm Bualoi approaches land, many flights delayed and canceled

(Dan Tri) - Due to the impact of storm Bualoi, airlines have announced the postponement and cancellation of many flights to Quang Tri, Thanh Hoa, Hue, and Da Nang.

Due to the impact of storm Bualoi (storm number 10), Vietnam Airlines has adjusted flight schedules to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

Specifically, on September 28, flight VN1597 from Hanoi to Dong Hoi and flight VN1404 from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Hoi had their take-off times adjusted to be earlier, both at 5:30 a.m. on the same day.

Similarly, flight VN1590 from Dong Hoi to Hanoi will take off at 7:10 a.m. on the same day. Flight VN1405 from Dong Hoi to Ho Chi Minh City will take off at 7:45 a.m. on the same day.

On the same day, September 28, flight VN7270 from Ho Chi Minh City to Tho Xuan ( Thanh Hoa ) had its take-off time adjusted to 7:00 a.m. and flight VN7271 from Tho Xuan to Ho Chi Minh City had its take-off time adjusted to 9:25 a.m. on the same day.

The airline will also cancel flights to and from Phu Bai Airport (Hue) on September 28. The airline will temporarily suspend flights to and from Da Nang International Airport until 12:00 on September 28. During this time, some other domestic and international flights may be affected by the storm.

Similarly, many Vietjet flights on September 28 also had to temporarily stop operating because Dong Hoi, Tho Xuan, Phu Bai, and Da Nang airports temporarily stopped receiving aircraft.

Specifically, because Dong Hoi airport temporarily stopped receiving aircraft from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on September 28, the airline temporarily suspended two flights VJ260/VJ261 HCMC - Dong Hoi - HCMC.

Because Tho Xuan airport temporarily stops receiving aircraft from 10:00 p.m. on September 28 to 7:00 a.m. on September 29 and Phu Bai airport (HUI) temporarily stops receiving aircraft from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on September 28, the airline temporarily stops 6 flights, including VJ1318/VJ1319/ VJ318/VJ319 on the HCMC - Hue - HCMC route and VJ563/VJ560 on the Hanoi - Hue - Hanoi route.

Along with that, this airline temporarily suspended 10 flights to Da Nang including VJ547/VJ548/VJ1501/VJ1504/VJ545/VJ546 Hanoi - Da Nang - Hanoi route and VJ1632/VJ1623/VJ1644/VJ1633 Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City route.

Previously, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam announced that it would stop receiving aircraft at Dong Hoi, Tho Xuan, Phu Bai and Da Nang airports on September 28-29. These airports are forecast to be in the direct impact area of ​​​​storm Bualoi (storm No. 10), with Phu Bai and Da Nang expected to experience early gusts of wind due to the storm's circulation.

Accordingly, Dong Hoi Airport (Quang Tri) will stop receiving aircraft from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. on September 28; Tho Xuan Airport (Thanh Hoa) from 10 p.m. on September 28 to 7 a.m. on September 29; Phu Bai Airport from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on September 28 and Da Nang Airport will close from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. on September 28.

The ports of Noi Bai (Hanoi), Van Don (Quang Ninh), Cat Bi (Hai Phong) and Chu Lai (Da Nang) are also advised to proactively update information and take precautions in case the storm has unusual developments.

The hydrometeorological agency said that from the evening of September 27, the sea area from Thanh Hoa to Quang Ngai (including Hon Ngu island, Con Co special zone and Ly Son) will have winds gradually increasing to level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9, waves 3-5m high, and rough seas.

Forecast from early morning of September 28, wind will increase to level 8-9, near the storm center level 10-13, gust level 16, waves 5-7m high, rough sea (extremely destructive, extremely strong waves, can sink large tonnage ships).

For the Gulf of Tonkin area (including Bach Long Vi, Van Don, Co To, Cat Hai and Hon Dau islands), it is forecasted that from early morning on September 28, the wind will gradually increase to level 6-7, then increase to level 8-9 (very rough seas, very dangerous for boats), gusting to level 11, waves 3-5m high, very rough seas.

From the afternoon of September 28, on the mainland from Thanh Hoa to Northern Quang Tri, the wind gradually increased to level 6-7, then increased to level 8-9, near the storm center level 10-12 (wind force can knock down trees, houses, electric poles, causing very heavy damage), gust level 14.

Coastal areas from Quang Ninh to Ninh Binh, from South Quang Tri to Hue are forecasted to have winds gradually increasing to level 6-7 (trees shaking, difficult to go against the wind), gusting to level 8-9.

It is forecasted that from the evening of September 27 to September 29, the area from Thanh Hoa to the North of Quang Tri will have heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 200-400mm, locally over 600mm; the area from South Quang Tri to Quang Ngai will have common rainfall of 100-300mm, some places over 400mm. Warning of the risk of heavy rain over 100mm/hour.
