VNPT Thai Nguyen employees do not fear danger, wade through flood water, replace damaged subscriber lines, and ensure uninterrupted communication.

Due to the influence of storm No. 11, on the night of November 6 and 7, heavy rain occurred in many provinces: Lang Son, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Bac Kan , Hanoi... causing widespread flooding and landslides. Power grid outages in Lang Son, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen affected the operation of BTS stations, and heavy floods caused the breakage of some fiber optic cables.

In Thai Nguyen , many households were affected, many traffic routes were paralyzed and the electricity and telecommunications systems were seriously affected. The VNPT Thai Nguyen Natural Disaster Prevention Command has proactively closely monitored weather developments, directed its subordinate units to fully prepare materials and equipment, and replenish fuel for generators, ensuring the safety of telecommunications equipment.

24/7 on-duty forces were assigned to key locations, ready to deploy the "4 on-site" plan. VNPT Thai Nguyen also proactively increased backup generators at the central network node, and on-duty personnel proactively deployed a plan to ensure timely backup power on the night of October 7 when the entire Thai Nguyen city was submerged in floodwaters to ensure information security for the network node station.

During the flood, VNPT Thai Nguyen technical staff did not fear danger, waded through floodwaters, moved generators, jacked up equipment, replaced damaged subscriber lines, and ensured smooth communication to serve rescue and command work.

Up to this point, in areas in Thai Nguyen, basic mobile communication is guaranteed to commune/ward centers, ensuring communication and command of local authorities.

In addition, VNPT Thai Nguyen has prioritized bandwidth for hotlines, provided timely weather information, and supported the evacuation of people to safety.

VNPT Thai Nguyen also increased staff at transaction points to provide SIM cards and support customers with free battery charging, meeting essential needs during difficult times.

24/7 Emergency Response

In Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces, VNPT deployed on-duty forces and response plans to ensure good communication and services in the area.

In Cao Bang, storm No. 10 caused flooding in many areas, landslides on many important roads, felled poles, broke cables, and lost power, seriously affecting life and information rescue.

Storm No. 11 continues to affect Cao Bang with flood peaks exceeding Storm No. 10. Two consecutive big storms in one week have broken a number of cable lines, causing widespread power outages, causing loss of connection signals for about 10,000 Internet subscribers in the area and many mobile subscribers were affected.

In that situation, VNPT Cao Bang's rescue force has been providing 24/7 rescue and promptly handling and fixing problems at transmission break points. VNPT Cao Bang has prepared human resources to support customers as soon as the power is restored.

Along with the initiative of VNPT in the area, VNPT Group is always ready with resources of 500 personnel along with vehicles, engines, tools and supplies to support the quick restoration of networks and services.

On the morning of October 8, VNPT increased its support force to deploy a fuel transportation plan in parallel with optimal power source solutions for important equipment to maintain operations for the central station of Thai Nguyen city, ensuring communication and services throughout the province.

In addition, VNPT also has Inmsarsat satellite communication equipment ready to serve the leadership of local authorities, and proactively coordinates with network operators to implement Roaming mobile services, to ensure the best information, to meet the direction and response to natural disasters of authorities at all levels as well as the service needs of the people.
