Forum "Listening to people's opinions in ethnic minority and mountainous areas"

On November 22, in Ninh Son district, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee organized a forum "Listening to the opinions of people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas". Comrade Le Van Binh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee attended and chaired the forum; also attending were leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors; experts from the Advisory Council of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and local leaders.

In his opening speech at the forum, the Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee emphasized that the forum is an opportunity for the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and relevant agencies to accompany and listen to the thoughts and aspirations of people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, especially in the process of implementing the National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas (DTTS&MN). Thereby, proposing solutions to overcome difficulties or recommending competent authorities to consider and guide and resolve to ensure that the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas is implemented according to the right goals, on schedule, with quality and in accordance with the principle of "People know, people discuss, people do, people check, people supervise and people benefit".

Comrade Le Van Binh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee chaired the forum.

He hoped that the people would boldly express and contribute their opinions and recommendations for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; the functional branches of the province and district would seriously absorb, research and propose solutions to implement socio-economic development policies in ethnic minority and mountainous areas to achieve the highest efficiency; the relevant departments of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province would synthesize opinions and report to the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and resolution to promote the highest efficiency of the policies of the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

At the forum, people expressed and sent many opinions and wishes such as having a technical support mechanism, replicating models of growing fruit trees with high economic value such as durian in Ma Noi commune; supporting the construction of irrigation works to serve the ethnic minority and mountainous areas to develop production and livestock; expanding the beneficiaries of the policy of supporting housing land for the poor; reinforcing dykes to prevent landslides.
